"Okay, this is crazy."

Ini continues to pace nervously and frantically, as she has done since she let me in her house. I couldn't help but notice how big and luxurious her bedroom is. Oddly, I didn't see any Parent around when I came into the house.

"Hey, where are your parents?"

She stops pacing immediately before looking at me like I just said something inappropriate.

"They travelled." she says sharply, before taking the couch opposite me to sit. Her sharp gaze fixed on me

Her eyes are glaring now, "You-...You're a monster."

Her chin is up, her nose is flared and her eyes are still glaring at me, while she folds her arms. She looks like she's ready for a fight or something. But  I could sense her fear behind this little show of bravery.

Funny.

"Is that so? Then why did you let a monster come into your house?" I'm smirking at her, "Aren't you afraid?"

She doesn't falter from her position , "I'm not." Her folded arms tightens against her chest but I could still sense a hint of fear from her increased heartbeat.

"Good. So, why did you call for me?"

Finally, she lets out an exasperated sigh, her muscles relaxes and her arms unfolds.

"I don't know what is happening to me."

This time her gaze on me felt vulnerable and lost. I could see a reflection of myself as I watched quietly; that image of confusion, denial, slow acceptance of the reality of being a Mons-... Wolf.

"Can I ask you a question? " I began,  slowly watching her eyes divert from me to her hands.

"Sure, why not."

"What was the last thing you saw, before you woke up at the morgue?"

Her eyes doesn't leave her hands, "I.. I was going to the hostel with Adora after lunch break and... " her eyes tightens shut for a brief moment before opening them again. "I saw something red in the bushes but it could've been tomatoes...whatever." she scoffs, looking back up at me.

"You saw tomatoes?.....Come on." I'm rolling my eyes at her bad attempt at description.

"It could've been..." she retorts back

My head slants, "You know what you saw and they weren't tomatoes."

She doesn't obviously want to grasp the situation that she's likely in more danger than being mauled by a demon.

It's my turn to sigh now, "I don't know you well,  but I see you around at school and I can tell you're really smart and you are not as self centered and un-bothered as to how everyone thinks." Leaning forward, so she can see that I am serious about what I said about protecting her last week, I say as, as convincingly as I can.

"Please... talk to me, so I can know how to help."

"It just happened ...out of nowhere." Her voice shakes now. "It was so big, strong and scary....It killed me." she goes quiet.

"Keep going. I'm here."

Her eyes closes shut again as she begins to narrate, "I was sure it killed me. But, I woke up, cold, hungry, very hungry. I was terrified and so I screamed so hard until someone came." She pauses again to swallow saliva before continuing.

"My parents were surprised  and happy....but after some days,  I couldn't sleep properly, I keep seeing the creature in my head and then...and then. " taking a deep breath.
