Chapter 62:
I didn't go with Harry to the airport. I didn't tell him to call me when he landed, I didn't say a single word as he left out the door but he did say to me:
'Bye Bri. I hope one day you'll find someone that loves you as much as me, if you don't, I'll be a phone call away.'
My heart is heavy like a fishing weight on a hook being prepared to be yanked from the water as it slowly tugs at the veins, ripping them away one by one.
I tell myself, that I can't sit here like I did and wait for him. I have to do what I told and promised myself. I have to get my life together. However, it's harder than I thought, because dealing with my past is harder than I expected.
Thoughts of the little girl that I carried for eight months creep in to my mind when thoughts of Harry aren't present.
I am guaranteed it's something I must live with every day, Bain will always be a part of me.
The holiday season was quickly approaching meaning Luke was home for at least a week and a half. Without thought, I call him.
"Hello?" His accent is thicker than I remember and I smile to myself.
"Stranger." I laugh. I hear his chuckle on the other end of the line as I sit down on my couch of my apartment and continue scrolling through job listings on a website around my local area.
"Bri. How are ya?"
"Could be better, but, I don't want to talk about it." I smolder. "How are you?"
"You actually called at a great time, I just finished classes for today."
"When are you home for Thanksgiving?" I ask.
"Uh, I still have next week I think then I'll be heading into the city that Friday. Can I stop by?"
"Of course. I actually have somewhere I need you to come with me."
"I'll have our band rehearsals later that night so is it okay if I bring them?"
I can't remember the last time Luke mentioned his band. I haven't seen them in forever.
"Yeah. I guess so, this place is kind of your guys taste anyways, probably."
"Where is it?"
"Why would I tell? It would ruin the surprise and suspense of next week." I smile.
"You're not planning on taking me and the guys out to a club or bar or something are you? You know we're underage."
"Luke." I say seriously. "No. I want to have fun not get arrested."
"If you say so." He says. "I'll see you next week."

•Harry's POV•
I can't stop thinking of what she could be doing right now. I'm on this plane headed back to LA and every thought good and bad runs through my mind of what my Bri could be doing.
She told me not to worry about her, but it's all I can do.
I can't see the ground from my seat as we soar over the clouds.
Stuck in my thoughts, I pull out from my carry on a leather journal and a pen as I open it up and begin to put my rhyming thoughts on paper.

•One Week Later•
•Harry's POV•
"Harry. This is genius." Louis says to me as he shuffles through my journal.
I stare blankly at him as he reads over every thought I wrote down in that journal on the plane.
"We have to record it and get it out there."
"I don't want to record it." I admit.
"What are you talking about? Harry! Wake up! This is the winning song, right here!"
Louis waves the journal in front of my face. I turn my back to him as I plop into the rolling chair of the recording studio in downtown Los Angeles.
City streets are busy as cars pass by quickly followed by another.
"I mean, that I don't want to sing it myself. There's no way I can. It's too personal and if it just so happens to become big and is put out there, I don't want her to hear my voice singing it because she'll instantly know I wrote it about her."
"Then who's going to sing it?" He asks confused.
I pull on my lip as I lose my train of thought and they drift back home.
My head lifts in realization.
"Give me the phone."
-
•Brianna's POV•
I can hear Luke and his band coming up the stairs of my apartment before they even knock.
They're so loud.
They were never that loud until Michael was released on an unknown payer who released him. He considered it his guardian angel. I consider it suspicious since it's the same thing that happened between Harry and Tim.
I am already to go and I hesitate to let them in because of the apartment being a wreck in the process of getting myself ready.
So as soon as they knock, I open the door and slide out of it shutting the door behind me as they all look at me as if I'm crazy.
I smile.
-
"Brianna? Really? Are you insane?" Luke gapes as we pull into a dirty parking lot in downtown.
"I would be lying if I said no." I say seriously. We all file out of my car and stand beside it as we wait for one another.
I laugh at the green haired boy as he nearly falls on his face after tripping over the side of the car door.
"Michael, I think you're more clumsy than Luke sometimes." The one with chocolate brown eyes and blonde streaks in his hair laughs, Calum was his name. Michael glares at him.
Ashton just laughs.
I begin walking away from the car and them as I lock my doors and Luke jogs up next to me.
"Brianna. What are you doing here?"
We stand outside a black painted building with a glass window reading 'Inked.'
"Getting a tattoo what the hell does it look like?"
"Why though?" Luke asks again.
"Luke, that's none of your business right now, okay. I know what I'm doing."
He goes silent as I pull open the door and the five of walk in.
-
The air smells of must and heavy cologne, sort of reminding me of the Safehouse.
A lady with white hair and green tips smiles at us, a piercing in her lip and eyebrow.
"Look, Michael. I didn't know you had a sister." Calum laughs. Michael rolls his eyes but cracks a smile.
"Hi. I'm Sherry. How may I help you?"
I look around.
"I want a tattoo." I state.
-
After filling out paperwork, I am taken to a back room leaving behind the four boys examining the designs on the wall, aside from Luke who stares at me like I am an alien.
"What kind of design were you looking for? Sleeves? Something simple?"
"A dove." I know exactly what I want.
The woman pulls out a clipboard with paper and begins to sketch several small designs. I point to the third one she drew.
"That one."
"Excellent choice. Now, where would you like it?"
I lift my fingertips above my head and over it as I graze them just between the back of my shoulder blades.
The woman nods.
"I don't do many back there but that's a great place to put it. If you think about it, it could be like a heart on your back."
I bite my lip when she says that. I didn't think about it that way but now I do.
"What's the occasion?" The woman gestures to a bed where I lay down and she moves aside my hair and pulls down my tanktop to reveal my shoulders.
My mouth parts.
"It's for someone very near to my heart." I say.
"Not to be nosy, I'm just a curious person but would you care if I asked who?"
"No." I say. A small reminiscent smile comes on my face. "Her name is Bain."
