namjoon stood, two feet behind the fine yellow line that separated both him and the train- with a smile.

namjoon stood, waiting for the day he'll surpass that line easily, happily ... accepted.

his hands intertwined together resting at his abdomen, he stood- waiting all alone ... again. it was back to square one, he thought.

his smile faded at the thoughts of no more box smiles, no more embarrassed blushes, or adorable giggles, no more "joon-yos!" or "hello theres" there was no more taehyung.

in the moments of that realization, namjoon had never noticed how much greyer life could get.

the train ceased in its tracks.

a door opened directing his way.

a crowd bombarded the entrance.

"namjoon?"

"... y-yes?"

smiles broke their dispassionate expressions as they all cheered, "climb aboard!"

sparing not a second, he climbed aboard eagerly, one foot placed onto the entrance of the train.

this is actually happening, he was finally accepted, finally loved! finally-

"n-namjoon?"

glancing back, namjoon's smile dropped. "hi... taehyung."

"y-you're on the..."

"uhm, yeah. i am."

"w-without.. me?"

it was back to square one.

"oh, it's you again." a man mentioned from inside of the train, "hey, joon, you know this man?"

"y-yeah, i do." namjoon turned his head briefly, "taehyung was invited before, can't he come?"

the folks on the train exchanged glances, slightly wide-eyed and perplexed.

"no, he can't. you'll have to leave him here."
