Missing the Beats {Haikyuu!!AU}

PROLOGUE

Shōyō danced around singing one of his favorite songs that was blasting, Rather Be dance remix as his sister, Natsu, laughed while recording him in her school uniform. Soon after he realized the time 5:00 AM it was a 45 minute walk to Natsu's high school, Karasuno, and a ten minute bus ride to the speed rail station that was an hours ride to the area his college is then he usually would be picked up by his roommate at the station and then they would drive ten minutes to the apartment/dorm. He rushed around quickly changing into a pink floral shirt and a pair of ripped jeans then grabbing his bag full of clothes where he stuffed his volleyball in the bag, keys (house and dorm/apartment), wallet, student ID lanyard, bus pass, speed rail pass, phone, earbuds, small portable speaker, and sunglasses. "Natsu grab your bag!" He yells then their mom yells, "I made you two a quick breakfast to eat on the go!" The two run down stairs Natsu with her school bag and Shōyō with his two bags. "Thanks for the food mom!" The two siblings that act almost like twins yell then pull on their shoes with their food being held in their mouths. After ten minutes of walking and eating, they both finished with their food. Natsu decided to spring a fact on Shōyō she knew he would like, "So have you heard that Pop star Kageyama, Tobio is going to your college." "WAIT WHAT," "Yeah your favorite Idol is going to your college And your gonna be gay as fuck for him." "I already am gay as fuck for him." "True." This was their conversation topic for the walk till they got to Karasuno and had a calming goodbye as the siblings would see each other soon "See you when your team does camp with Nekoma, Fukurodani, and the others." Shōyō says and walks off the bus stop. Once he gets to the bus stop he is lucky enough that the bus is there and gets on. Soon after a one hour and fifteen minutes of traveling to Tokyo. He gets out of the station and goes to sit on a bench while calling his roommate "Hello..." The bored voice on the other side says, "Hey Kenma I just got into town your family is about four minutes from the station so could you pick me up?" "Yeah Shōyō I was about to go to the Station anyway Kuroo asked me to pick up Bokuto do you see him there?" When Kenma said that a loud voice yelled, "Chibi-chan!!" "Bokuto-san! Oh and Kenma he is here." "K'ay could I'll be there in five." "Hey Bokuto-san, Kenma is going to pick us up he'll be here in five" Hinata said to the black and silver haired adult. They sat there for a minute chatting when I Like Me Better Covered by Kageyama, Tobio started playing and Hinata bolted up started dancing and of course Bokuto ended up recording it. In the middle of the song Hinata started singing along and it attracted people to start watching this college boy who danced like he was the music himself and sang perfectly. As others watched him, Hinata felt like he was at peace while the music flowed through his ears and body. Soon the song ended and people clapped but one person in particular was caught in a trance this person is the exact person who covered the song Hinata danced to. No one really noticed Kageyama because with his disguise blended pretty well. "Bro! Who taught you to dance like that!" Bokuto was amazed, "No one in particular, we're in the dance club so I evolved to compete with everyone." Hinata smiled as Kenma's car pulled up, "Shot gun!" Hinata yells jumping into the front seat by Kenma and Bokuto got in the back. "Coffee?" Kenma asked his roommate , "Yes!" that's all Hinata needed to say and Bokuto just nodded in agreement. Kenma drove to a small coffee shop drive thru near the dormitories/apartments, about 4 blocks, when they pulled up Kenma ordered a iced coffee, shot of espresso, with milk for himself, and a decaf iced coffee with milk and a hint of mint for Hinata, finally a iced mocha for Bokuto. Soon enough after a small conversation the three arrived at the apartment/dorm building, "Bokuto, Kuroo said to meet him at your dorm/apartment." "Kuroo and I are roommates Kenma so it's our dorm. Oh by the way have you guys heard the rumor about a specific singer dancer?" This caught Hinata's attention, "Yeah! My younger sister told me apparently this singer dancer is going to our college doubt he'll join the dance club but it would be nice." Kenma laughed at what Hinata said and told him, "Don't be a pessimist Shōyō you probably will be in the same class with your luck." "Hey! You two shouldn't you get going to your dorm/apartment to drop off your stuff?" Bokuto yells at them then heads towards the building with his stuff soon the two boys that were arguing are headed after him with their bags. After racing to their room the two freshmen quickly grabbed their stuff for their classes and rushed off again. Hinata ran off in the direction of the performing arts department building while Kenma ran off to the tech department. When Hinata got to his class at the performing arts department he saw someone in his class that he never would have thought to be in his class of all classes . "Oh my fucking god (or what you believe in) is that Kagey-" He was cut off by a blonde girl in his class yelling at him "HINATA! GET OVER HERE!!!!" The girl was waving and Hinata broke his gaze from who shocked him and ran over to her "Yachi!" He yelled and tackled her "Get off me Hinata your gonna kill me and I have something to show you!" Yachi said acting like she was dying so Hinata got off of her and helped her up she then opened her phone and showed him a video that was uploaded 5 minutes ago of him dancing to the I Like Me Better cover by Kageyama Tobio at the station and in the background is none other than Kageyama Tobio himself! "WHAT!" Hinata says loudly while staring at the screen Yachi and Hinata talk for awhile then finally the person Hinata was staring at came up to him and Yachi, "Umm hey I was hoping you two could help me blend in better with the class." He ask scratching the back of his head nervously. Seeing who it was Yachi immediately covered up Hinata's mouth, "Oh u-um.. Sure! I'm Yachi, Hitoka and this is my best friend Hinata, Shōyō we both are part of the dance club, and Hinata is part of the Volleyball team not meaning to brag but he is an awesome middle blocker!" While Yachi was talking she didn't notice the Hinata took her hand off his mouth. "Yachi! Sorry about her she likes to talk about that but yeah I play volleyball and apparently was part of a duo called the freak duo when I was a freshman but I had a major concussion while riding my bike with my sister and I forgot what this person looked like and their name when I was a second year but then again this person has also moved away after our first year and went to another school. Sorry thats too much information! Yachi!! You got me going again!" This earned a laugh from who they were talking to and Yachi "Oh by the way what's your name you look familiar but do I know you?" Hinata asked and Yachi laughed again "There Hinata goes being a dumbo and I just showed a video to you of you dancing at the station earlier and you gasped and went WHAT! Cause this exact person you're-" "YACHI PRIVATE INFORMATION!" Hinata interrupted "Dumbass anyway my name is Kageyama, Tobio." The boy said to them and Yachi immediately slapped Hinata and Hinata literally just sat there trying not to freak. "Yachi remind me later to pay Kenma 20 yen" "Pfft... You two bet on that!" "Kenma's idea it was gonna be ten yen but he raised it to 20" "Ha I love him as a friend!" "Yeah you better cause Kiyoko is your GF all the way!" "How many couples do you and Kenma have bets on?" "I don't know almost everyone in our friend group...?" "Dude why!" "Conversation stop." Hinata says and then looks at Kageyama "Hey Kageyama you can sit down with us trust me there you will blend a lot and feel free to talk with us! You know you should also hang out with us!" his bright smile shines rivaling the sun in brightness to Kageyama "Thanks for the offer and I'll accept it, also I have a question for you um... Hinata?" "Yes?" "Well I saw you dance and well I would like to watch the people you dance with because one of the reasons I came to this school is I am looking for someone I can partner up with." "HUH!?!" When Hinata says that Yachi falls out of her chair and quickly texts a silver haired boy it their dance club a Education Major, Kōshi Sugawara.

Rainbow-Yachi: Suga-san!!!!
SugaMama: What is it Yachi!?!
Rainbow-Yachi: Hinata and I have class with Kageyama, Tobio!!! (Hinata doesn't remember him still T^T)
SugaMama: I feel like there is more too this
Rainbow-Yachi: He wants to overlook our daily practices!
SugaMama: Has anyone told him practice starts AFTER the Volleyball team is done with their practices and Hinata is an accepted late arrival because of Volleyball
Rainbow-Yachi: No but he will be hanging out with us! ^~^ ♥♥♥
SugaMama: You're acting like some straight girl, when you are actually super gay for Kiyoko-san
Rainbow-Yachi: We are dating SugaMama ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ

-12:00 PM Lunch Time-

Hinata sat at the table his friend group sat at with a granola bar and a protein shake while scrolling through his phone. "Hey Shōyō" Kenma says as he sits down beside the ginger haired boy, "Hey Kenma I owe you this." Hinata hands Kenma 20 yen, "So your favorite pop artist is in your class~" "Oooh so Hinata must have just paid Kenma. Also Kenma this is Kageyama, Tobio and Kageyama this is Kozume, Kenma but we all call him Kenma!" Yachi says sitting down with her food across from Hinata and Kageyama sitting next to her. Soon the table started to fill up with people. The people sitting with them were either from the dance club or science club, "Tobio-chan! You're sitting with us!" this was said by an over enthusiastic Oikawa walking to the table and this earned a pissed off silver haired mother, "OH! there is the class skipper!" "QUIT CALLING ME THAT" "Do you prefer to be called Alien Boy?" Hinata asks "You know his side of our dorm is hilarious." Kageyama says as he pulls up a picture of it on his phone "Show us!" Yachi says and looks over his shoulder at it and bursts out laughing. "So Alien Boy really does love aliens!" Yachi laughs harder as Kageyama shows others and they laugh. "You know the nickname Tobio-chan sounds familiar... " Hinata says and Suga quickly grabs Hinata and drags him somewhere. "SUGA-SAN WHERE ARE YOU TAKING ME!!!" Hinata yells as he is dragged to the arboretum near by. When they walked in Suga let go of Hinata, "Hinata after our Dance practice tonight can you meet me and everyone who was on the Volleyball team when you were a first year at Katherine's Café where Yachi works?" Suga asks "Yeah sure but why?" "We want to talk with you about your memory." "Oh ok I will be there because you guys wouldn't fess up before." "Oh shut it We've been waiting till someone arrived and they had finally responded to me so yeah." "My mystery person?" "Yeah you could claim." Suga tells Hinata then the two start walking back to the cafeteria. "Shut it Saltyshima!" Kageyama yelled glaring at, a blonde boy with glasses who was almost 6 foot 8 inches, Tsukishima who had a smirk on his face "Oh really almighty ki-" Tsukishima started but Daichi a shorter male with black hair hit him on the back and he shut up. "Hey guys!" Suga says quickly sitting down in his spot, Hinata follows him but instead of sitting down he grabs his stuff, "I'm I have to go so see you guys later." He says and runs off. "Well that's good cause now I can announce this, Karasuno alumni and Kageyama please meet me at Katherine's Café after dance ok. Ok let's get going you all have classes!" Suga says and takes his stuff and gets going.
