Peter and I had danced and played games with our friends and family all day.
"Okay, everyone!" Hazel yelled into the microphone, "It's time for the game we've all been waiting for!"
"Who was it!" she yelled excitedly. Several people cheered in happiness at the game they had all voted for. Dad and Wong brought out two chairs and set them back to back.
Peter and I sat down in the chairs. "Okay, so if Everest is the answer, raise the bouquet. If you believe Peter is the answer, raise handkerchief. Ready?" Hazel asked us. We nodded.
"Okay," Hazel spoke as she pulled out some note cards, "When you first met, who made the first move?"
Everyone began giggling as Peter raised the bouquet. I then too raised the bouquet from my lap.
"Next one," Hazel said, "Who is smarter?"
I, being the occasionally narcissistic girl that I am, raised the bouquet once again, but the hysterical laughter that filled the room had told me Peter had raised the handkerchief.
"Everest, explain how you're smarter than me," Peter said.
"She never said in what context. In kids, I'm probably smarter than you," I sassed. The audience "oh"ed at my remark.
"Okay, moving on," Raven cut in as she took the mic from Hazel, "Who said I love you first?"
I raised the bouquet once again, but I could just tell that Peter had raised the handkerchief. Then Peter looked back at my answer even though he wasn't supposed to. "You are wrong. I said I love you first," he said.
"No, I'm pretty sure I did," I said.
"Who's the biggest baby?" she asked. I for once held up the handkerchief.
...
We had danced the night away. Several gave us their well-wishes. I was in pure bliss.
It was finally time to call the party to an end. We were married. I was Everest Maye Parker now.
"We should probably go get ready for bed now," Peter said. I nodded tiredly, but happily. I let out a yawn and right after, Peter did too. We walked to my room. We got dressed in my bathroom separately and cuddled up into bed. Peter held me in his arms and everything felt right.
. . .
(3rd Person POV)
Tony was angry. They had gotten away again and with people that were innocent. He could still recall her words in his head clearly. He still disagreed with her statement of them being so alike.
"Tony, we'll get them," Steve said as he put a hand on his friend's shoulder, "I promise."
"How can you say that when now three members of our team are questioning us?" Tony snapped, "We're supposed to be the leaders, yet that stupid kid has turned that on our heads."
"Tony, I'm sorry that you feel that way, but you don't know what she was like," Bruce said as he entered the room, "This is actually surprising to me... heh."
"What do you mean, Banner?" Steve asked.
"Well, she wasn't really the one to start conflicts because she was intensely afraid of confrontation," Bruce explained, "It was more like Troy to do this sort of stuff. I think she started this because Troy wasn't getting justice for what Michael did."
