Jin pov~
We stood there in the front of the store by the checkout lines, looking around at everything but each other. I figured we could just stand here for an hour and then leave. When I decided on that plan I heard someone come up behind us. "Hey-ya boys!" the man said wrapping his arms around both of us embracing us in a hug, all the while awkwardly pulling me closer to Namjoon than I was comfortable with. "Who are you?" I asked. I noticed he had a relatively small face and short black hair. "I'm Youngjae, I'm a friend of Daehyuns," he smiled. I rolled my eyes, of course he'd be this thorough with his little plan. "Let me guess, you're here to make sure we stay together right?" I asked. He nodded smiling, "Now go do some shopping boys I'll be watching," he said pushing us forward.
I sighed as Namjoon turned and began walking toward the pharmacy section. "Where are you going?" I muttered following behind. "To get that loser some glasses, what do you think I'm doing?"
I rolled my eyes, "Seriously? You're still calling him names?" I asked.
"I stopped calling him freak, you should be happy."
I said nothing, he was probably right. We turned down to the glasses aisle.
"What eyes does he have?" Namjoon asked looking at all of the glasses in the section.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"His eyes, how blind are they?" He asked. I nodded, assuming I had understood what he meant.
"Well, from what I remember he wore the same prescription of glasses as I did when I was younger, and I don't think he's gone anymore blind so probably these ones," I said grabbing a black pair similar to my own. Namjoon nodded and I stared at him deeply, getting lost in thought. He glanced up, "what?" He asked.I shook my head, placing the glasses back on the rack and walking over to the contact section. "What are you doing?" Namjoon asked. I grabbed a box of lenses off the shelf. "I think it's better if he has contacts, who knows how many more pairs of his glasses you'll end up breaking," I muttered. I looked at him and noticed that he balled his hands into a fist.
"If you test my patience anymore I'll break him and every pair in this store," he muttered.
My eyes widened, but before I could make a remark he turned around and walked away. As he left he yelled to Youngjae, who was hiding in the corner watching us, that he'd be right back. I sighed, shaking my head. He seemed to be getting on my nerves more and more each day. I decided to just ignore him and get out my phone. I searched through my phone contacts.
I know I didn't delete Jimin's mom's number in here. I finally found it after a few minutes and called."Hello?"
"Hey Mrs. Park this is Jin."
"Oh Jin! It's been a while how are you? Is everything okay with Jimin?" She asked.
"I'm doing well Mrs. Park and yes he's fine. I was just calling about Jimin it seems his glasses broke."
"Oh that clumsy boy he loses more pairs than I can afford to pay for," she muttered.
"I know Mrs. park, that's why I'm at the store. I was wondering if you've taken Jimin to the eye doctor recently?" I asked.
"Oh yes I took him recently!"
"Okay, I was wondering if he gave you a prescription for just glasses or if he fitted Jimin for contact lenses as well?" I asked.
"You know, I think the doctor did. He said with Jimin's clumsiness contacts are probably a better choice but I couldn't afford to pay so much for them."
"That's Alright Mrs. Park, I was wondering if you could send me a picture of his prescription because I'm going to buy him some," I said.
"You are? Oh how sweet I'll send it right over Jin sweetheart," she said.
"Thank you Mrs. Park I hope to hear from you soon," I said, saying goodbye before I hung up. She sent the picture and I found the perfect match. As I grabbed the box Namjoon showed up behind me. "Did you figure it out?" He said causing me to jump, "you can't scare me like Namjoon," I said placing my hand over my heart. He shrugged his shoulders as I looked down at a bag in his arms. "You.... got a bag of suckers?" I asked. He opened the bag and got one out, unwrapping it and placing it in his mouth. "You can't just open stuff in the store Namjoon," I said. "Don't worry I already paid for it," he said pulling the receipt out of his pocket. "And why do you need those?" I asked. He shrugged, "Last time I was angry they calmed me down, I'm hoping they work again," he muttered. I decided it was better to let him be, after all the more calm he was the better he was to handle.
I nodded as I went over and grabbed a cart, throwing the contacts in as Namjoon placed his bag of lollipops in the cart. You know I didn't want to admit it, but it was kind of odd, but also interesting that he actually did something to try to calm himself down, usually he just gets angry and hits or punches something. Maybe he was trying to change, juuust a little bit.
"Where do we go next?" Namjoon asked. I thought for a second, "oh! I need a door!"
"A door?" Namjoon asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yes."
"Why?" He asked.
"Because I broke Jimin's."
"You broke Jimin's door?"
"Yes," I said.
"Why did you do that?" He asked.
"Because he wouldn't let me in," I shrugged my shoulders.
"And I thought I had the anger problems," he muttered.
"You do that's why you make everyone around you miserable," I half heartedly laughed.
I heard him bite down hard on the sucker until it broke off, he took the stick out of his mouth and threw it away, grabbing another sucker and placing it in his mouth to replace it.
"Sorry, it was just a bad joke," I said.
"Was it?" He asked looking at me. I sighed, grabbing the cart and heading down to the furniture part of the store. "The doors are down here," he said pointing to an aisle that I had just walked by.
"Oh," I said flipping around.
"What kind of door do you need?" He asked.
"Uhm, I don't really know. It's the same as our house," I said.
He nodded as he walked down the aisle. It took him a few minutes but he found it."Can you help me carry this?" He asked. I nodded and walked over, helping him pick the huge box up. As I lifted it up a bee flew into my face, it must've snuck in the front doors when someone walked into the store. It kept buzzing around me, making me momentarily forget about the door I was carrying. Without thinking I let go of it so that I could shoo the bee away. I realized my mistake when Namjoon yelled in pain. When I looked down I realized I had dropped a 40 pound door on Namjoon's foot. He managed to slide it out from under the door and winced in pain as he balanced on one foot. I dashed over there, helping him sit on the ground. He bit off the rest of his sucker and threw the stick across the aisle, obviously furious. I didn't want to speak and make him anymore angry so I sat next to him on the floor quietly. He groaned in pain. I noticed that he raised his arm and I flinched back, worried he was going to hit me, but nothing came. He ended up resting his hand on his forehead and closing his eyes to think.
After a few moments he dropped his hand and looked at me. "Are you scared of me too?" He asked. I paused and look around.
"You are aren't you? I didn't even hit you yesterday why did you flinch a second ago? Why would I hit you?" He asked. I looked at him, confused.
"You should want to hit me more than the others. You said it yourself, everything that's happened is my fault. You're upset at me, though I don't know why. If Jimin wouldn't have stepped in you would've hit me too, I would've probably been in Jimin's shoes," I said looking at the ground. I heard him sigh, "I wasn't ever going to hit you."
My eyes widened in surprise, "what?"He looked away, "Yes I was angry at you. But I wasn't going to hit you. I wanted to, but I couldn't bring myself to."
"But you hit the others?" I asked.
"The others don't mean as much to me as you do, I never thought in a million years that you would be the first one to betray me. I trusted you."
"Trusted me to do what Namjoon? I can't just sit there and let you hurt an innocent kid for no apparent reason anymore. You know, I never figured out why you started hating Jimin but I know it had nothing to do with rumors. I'm not going to ask you why you did it though because I fear I'll get angry once I hear it. All I hope is that you know you're in the wrong here," I said.
"I'm starting to realize it Jin, but if you wanted to help Jimin you didn't have to betray me like that," he said."Betray you? You scared all of us half to death with constant threats. If we were nice to Jimin you said you were going to outcast us too. There was no other option but to go behind your back to talk to him. It just hurts me Namjoon, because I never thought that by helping Jimin I'd lose everything I had with you. I always thought you'd work with me instead of against me," I said as the tears began falling from my eyes once again.
