Something pounced on her.

A groan escaped her, a heavy weight settling over her stomach. She thought it was one of her wolves being obnoxious in the morning, she had probably overslept anyway. After Cassius left last night, or rather she fell asleep, the tax of stress on her body sent her into a sleep like coma. It was refreshing. But, when the weight upon her chuckled, she knew it wasn't her wolves.

Suddenly, she found herself bouncing up and down against the mattress as the said person stood to his feet and jumped up and down. Finally, her eyes sprung open when a headache threatened to take home in her temples, and she found herself blurrily staring up at Cassius.

When he noticed she was awake, he stopped bouncing. His face was permanently molded into a foolish grin, she was convinced it was. He jumped up one last time and then flopped on his stomach next to her, propping his head up with his arm.

"Good morning," He smiled, innocently.

"Yeah, okay," She muttered, "Good morning to you, too. Was it really necessary to jump on my bed?"

Cassius chuckled, "Absolutely. Not a morning person?"

She yawned, "I actually am. I just had one of the best sleeps of my life and I would have liked to continue it."

"Nope," He poked her nose, "Its almost nine and everyone is waiting to meet you."

She groaned, stomach instantly churning with nerves, and then she noticed the absence of her wolves. With a furrowed brow, she sat up and glanced around the floor for them. She didn't see them.

"Did you chase my wolves away?" She questioned.

Cassius rolled off her bed, "No, Fox came by the check on you early this morning and your wolves followed him outside. They should be downstairs now."

"Oh."

"Come on, I'm starving!" He declared, "Let's go gorge ourselves to death."

Her stomach answered his words with a grumble and she gave him a small smile before sliding out of bed and changing into new clothes in the bathroom. She quickly did her business and then met Cassius at the door.

"You know," He said as they walked down the hallway, "You're officially my new partner in crime."

"A criminal's best asset is his lie ability."

Cassius stopped midstep, his eyes widening, "Did you just crack a pun?"

She briefly mused, "I guess I did, didn't I?" She hadn't said any puns since her father but it was natural to her, she loved being sarcastic and saying double meaning things.
