The draft work -- which won a 2018 Watty -- is a lot of fun, IMHO, and I plan to leave it up here for anyone to read for free. If you're wondering whether it's worth paying $3.99 for the ebook, I'll just tell you candidly what's been improved.
The polished version cuts the "tech talk" way back, and is more accessible to the average reader. It also smooths out Deb's character and makes the villains less one-dimensional. And, of course, a range of spelling, formatting, and consistency problems are fixed.
If you do read the free version here and enjoy it, please consider leaving a review of the commercial version at Amazon or Goodreads. A thoughtful review at either site is much more valuable to me than whatever royalties I'd receive off a single sale, and I would be extraordinarily grateful for it.
