"Tyler Robert! Sit down!"
"Make me!"
Quickly stepping forward so Tyler couldn't run, Josh grabs his arm and pulls him into his arms. Lifting him up, Tyler squirms and begins to slap repeatedly at his daddy's biceps. Not that it was doing much harm.
Sitting on the couch, Josh hugs the little's waist to hold him in place. Continuing to wiggle around, the little turns just enough to see the elder's face. Josh flinches as spit hits him in the eye.
In one quick move, Josh flips Tyler onto his belly over his knees and smacks the little's butt. Tyler gasps and instantly stops wiggling.
The two sit in silence for a moment before cries erupt from the brunette. Josh wipes the spit out of his eye before sighing. Pulling the little up into a sitting position on his lap, Josh wipes his cheeks, only for more tears to fall.
"Tyler," Josh says softly. "Tyler, stop crying."
The little hiccups before wiping his nose on his sleeve, but the tears continue.
"Baby, you know why I did that, right?"
"Uh huh."
"Why did I do that?"
"'Cause I's being bad," the little blubbers.
Josh pulls Tyler against his chest and hugs him while he calms down.
"Hey, teeny," Josh whispers. "You wanna go for some ice cream?"
"But I been bad," Tyler whimpers.
"You're not bad, honey. I think you're just tired."
Josh knows that their recent problems have been stressing Tyler out. They've had problems in the past but Josh actually raised his voice this time and he's never done that. To say the least, Josh's heart shattered at the fact he made Tyler cry.
Listening to his conversation with Brendon, he hated that he made Tyler feel like he didn't want to marry him anymore. He'd been so excited about marrying Josh and talking about the wedding. He shouldn't have to feel like his fiancé changed his mind. Josh knows a part of it was because of his anxiety, but to make up for it, while Tyler is big or little, Josh is doing anything he can to make him happy.
And that includes ice cream at eleven o'clock at night.
-
Josh rolls his eyes as they walk into Dairy Queen and see the same girl from last time.
She looks up and scowls.
"Say anything, and I'll have you fired. I promise," Josh states as he steps up to the counter.
The girl rolls her eyes, "What can I get for you?"
Josh orders his and Tyler's usual ice cream order and they step to the side to wait.
Sucking on his bottom lip, Tyler looks up at his daddy who looks back down at him.
"You okay?"
Tyler nods and looks back at the counter.
Leaning down, Josh moves his face close to the little's. Tyler looks back and jumps slightly at how close he is. He lets out a fit of giggles. Josh grins and wraps his arms around Tyler's waist. Pulling him closer, he kisses his cheek repeatedly making the brunette squeal in delight.
"Here."
The two look up and see the blonde girl walking away, their ice cream sitting on the counter.
"You wanna eat here or at home?"
"Home."
"Okay, let's go," Josh says, letting go of the little.
Tyler whines and lifts his arms, "Up, daddy."
Josh groans playfully, a smile appearing on his lips as he lifts the brunette. Resting him on his hip, he gives Tyler his ice cream before picking up his own and walking out of the restaurant.
-
"Joshua."
"Hm?"
It's nearing three in the morning as Family Guy played on Josh's laptop. Neither of them was tired once they finished eating. Cuddling in bed, Tyler gets excited suddenly as a thought pops into his head.
"What do you wanna do for your birthday?"
Josh chuckles, "It's April. My birthday isn't for another two months."
"So?"
The elder sighs, "I don't wanna do anything, baby."
"Why?"
Josh shrugs, "I just don't. I don't like my birthday."
"You're only 22, you're not that old."
"It's not that."
"What is it?" Tyler asks, moving so that he is now straddling Josh's hips.
"It's not important, honey."
"You got sad. What happened?" The brunette says softly.
Josh shakes his head, placing his hands on the younger's bare thighs and looking down at his stomach.
"J..."
Josh sighs, "My uh...my mom."
"Your mom? You've never mentioned her," Tyler says, surprised, having never heard about his fiancé's mom before. He smiles gently, "What's she like?"
"She was amazing. She was the most important person in my life."
Tyler's smile drops slowly, "Was?"
Josh nods and looks back up at Tyler's face.
"And she...passed...on your birthday," Tyler mumbles in realization.
Josh nods again, "Yeah."
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have-"
"You're fine, Ty. I should've told you sooner, but the author forgot to write about it, so I didn't. It's not your fault."
Tyler nods, "Still."
"Come here." Tyler lays down, his head on Josh's chest as the elder rubs his back. "I love you, sweetheart."
"I love you, honeybunch. I can't wait to marry you."
"I'm gonna marry you so hard," Josh whispers, making Tyler giggle.
"Let's have some fun."
"What kinda fun?"
"Adult fun."
"It's three in the morning, you realize this right?"
Tyler chuckles, "And? We don't have classes."
"You do have work though."
"Not until two o'clock."
Josh rolls his eyes but allows Tyler to push his boxers down.
