Chapter 3: How It All Happened

Milani's P.O.V
I finally heard the door open and I flew down the steps before she even go to the chance to call my name like she usually does .
" Well hey lani" she said setting her keys on the counter . " Hey mom" I said back.
" how was work ? " she asked not suspecting anything . " something REALLY WEIRD happened today" I said hinting at it. " and that was..." she asked sitting at the table . " well I met a person and let's just say , that person and I look the same . Well , we're basically the same " I said staring at her . She shifted in her chair but didn't say a word. " what are you talking about ? " she asked weirdly almost as if she was hoping it wasn't what she was thinking. " why didn't you tell me that I have a twin ? " I asked raising my voice just a little .
She sat there silently just looking around.
" listen lani, I never knew when to tell you. It never seemed like a good enough time and then once you got older I figured you would hate me for keeping it from you for so long so I don't know , I was afraid". She said making eye contact with me. It seemed genuine and at this time I wasn't really mad because I didn't know why. I always like to hear a persons side of the story before judging. " so what happened ? Why'd you lie to me for almost 19 years? " I asked ready to hear everything she had to say to me.

Ahlani's P.O.V
As soon as I left Milani's job I went straight to dads house to find out why he's been keeping this big ass secret from me.
When I pulled up I saw his car in the driveway.
he met me at the door , I guess he saw me through the cameras. " hey baby girl" he said hugging me , I walked into the door taking a seat " hey dad" I spoke looking at him. " what's wrong ? , is it Morgan ? I told you not to date a boy with a female name" my father said . I couldn't help but to laugh although Morgan is a co-Ed name my father hated it for a boy and it make me laugh every time . " No , Morgan and I are FINE!" I said wiping the tears from my eyes . " I just need to talk to you about something " I said as he looked over at me.
" what is it baby girl? " he asked looking very curious. " Why have you been lying to me?" I asked. " why didn't you tell me about my twin?" I added before he got to speak.
" listen baby girl , I ..." he stopped talking.
" how'd you find out about her?" He asked
"I went to Walmart and she works there" I said
" wait... is that why we moved back here ?" I asked him .
He was silent ... " yes , well , yeah it is. I wanted you to reconnect with your sister and I was doing what I could to find out where she was . And once I found out everything I was going to contact her and stuff but you found her before I did that" . He said . " so you planned on telling me ... when ?" I asked getting a little agitated. " as soon as I met her I was going to tell you. I just didn't want too much going on at once" he said. " listen I was with your mother from sophomore year in high school until her sophomore year of college, once she went away to college I found myself drifting away . She came back into town one day and planned on surprising me , she walked in on me having sex with someone that obviously wasn't her" he said I just looked at him waiting for him to continue . " umm... she left I kicked the girl out and chased after her . No matter what I had always loved your mother it was just the distance thing and being young and stupid. Anyway she fought me and told me she wanted nothing to do with me ever again. But I couldn't just let her go so I brought her flowers , and kept showing up to her house with gifts and eventually she let me take her on dates and boom we were back together I promised her I'd never do anything to hurt her again . And then it was almost time for her to leave again to go to back to school for the new semester. We had sex 2 days before she left . About a month or 2 later she called me and said she had something important to talk to me about . She told me that she was pregnant and I felt guilty . REALLY GUILTY I had been doing good with keeping my promise to never cheat on her again until the week before she called me . I let my hormones take over and I cheated AGAIN . Stupid? Yes ... I know. But anyway I had to tell her I couldn't let her have my seeds and not tell her I been fucking round behind her back foreal so I told her and she hung up. After that I hadn't talked to her for about 3 more months. One day I decided to call hoping she'd answer which she did and she updated me and told me that she'd be home in 3 weeks and that we could find out the gender together ". Once we found out that they well y'all were twins I tried to get her back and make us a family but she said " I'd be a fool to let you play me 3 times" so with that we decided I'd raise one of you and she'd raise the other. We named y'all together and after y'all we're ready to leave the hospital she took Milani and I took you." He said. I looked at him with disappointment.
my father was a king pin for several years . He just recently got out of the game not completely but somewhat , he never really dated & I always wondered why but could never get an answer from him.
" do you still love her ?" I asked him waiting for an honest answer .
" that's the only women besides my mother I've ever loved" he said and I knew he meant it because he never said he loved any woman beside granny and me of course but he said I'm still his " baby girl" .
