The bright lights whiz back and forth in front of your eyes, joined by loud screams and bass thumping music coming from different areas of the fair ground that you was attending with your boyfriend, Mikey. You was stood just off to the side of the main pathway, which was overcrowded with people. You was people watching whilst waiting for Mikey to come back from the bathroom. After waiting for a few minutes, you decided to plan out how the rest of the evening would go, what your main priorities of the fair was so that you could include them and not leave them out, resulting in a successful evening for you both.
Moments later, you see Mikey's tall frame slowly navigating through the crowd of people, towards you. His brown hair in its usual messy style, or as he likes to call it the 'Just rocked out of bed' look. His bright eyes are fixated on you, as if he's trying to not lose you in the crowd and he flashes you a small grin of reassurance when you lock eyes, knowing you don't like being left alone in such large gatherings. He quickly approaches you, once he is through he main throng of people, greeting you with a gentle kiss to the forehead before entwining his hand with yours and lightly pulling you in the opposite direction of where you had just come.
"Mikey, where are we going? I have it all planned out. We're doing the Fun House first, then going onto the stalls, before finishing with the Ghost Train. And that's all back there, so lets go." You complain to him and try to turn around, tugging him by his arm. There is no way you're giving into him, whilst he peed, you planned, so he would have to do it.
"But babe, I have plans also and, no offence, but they kinda trump your plans and they're sort of special. For my special girl. So please," He softly strokes his thumb over your connected hands and slowly pulls up back to him "come with me. If you don't like what I have in store for us, which you will, I can guarantee that, then we will definitely finish the night off with a Ghost Train. Deal?"
You stand there, looking at him, contemplating his offer. His face is hopeful, the lights from the rides reflecting in his eyes making him seem even more so. You huff out in annoyance at not getting your own way and groan out a "fine", before dragging your feet along with you and Mikey on the way to his 'plan'.
He could tell you was reluctant in agreeing to him, you barely spoke a word on your short journey and your gaze constantly darted around to the attractions surrounding you both until you stopped in front of a stall.
It wasn't a very large stall, considering the size of the stalls either side of it, it was tiny almost miss-able. An ageing man was running the stall, what little of his thinning hair he had left was almost white and he had glasses perched on his nose. He didn't seem too bothered about the lack of custom he was receiving from passers by, but as soon as he noticed you and Mikey standing parallel to his stall, he became energetic and ecstatic at the prospect of customers.
"You, young sir! How about a game? Shoot this gun to get a bullseye and perhaps win your lovely girl a prize! How's about it?" The man's eagerness was all over his tone of voice and it immediately got Mikey interested. Anything to show of his masculine side, he was all for it. He approached the man, paying the fee, before picking up the prop gun, weighing it in his hands as if he was a professional. You snorted a small laugh at how serious he was taking a prize winning stall, his attention quickly diverted to you in disbelief at your lack of encouragement towards him.
"Just you watch, babe. I'll be winning you that teddy in say, two minutes time?" He says to you, fierce determination painted across his face.
"Show us what you got" you reply to him, smugness evident in your tone, something that he notices, making him raise his brows at your sassy attitude towards him.
He holds the gun up to his eye level, trying his best to maintain full accuracy at the bullseye, not wanting to fail in front of you after all of his fighting talk. He releases a slow, deep breath, causing you to bite your lower lip to refrain from giggling at his serious composure to a game. On his second deep exhale, he pulls the trigger and shoots the gun, hitting the bullseye on the first try. You stand there with your mouth agape, shocked by what you just saw him do, not expecting it in the slightest. When you turn you attention back towards him, he's the one now wearing a smug expression and a condescending smile, placing the gun back down onto the counter.
"Think that was less than a minute actually." His arrogance shining through in his words, sending a wink your way making him comes across even more so. "Close your mouth babe, you'll start catching flies. I'm not going to kiss you after that." He chuckles away at his joke as you shake yourself out of thoughts, closing your mouth.
"I cant believe you just did that, wow" You state, you're beyond impressed at his accuracy, even if his ego has sky rocketed. "I'm very impressed I must say, all of those video games are definitely paying off." You both begin laughing at how he used video gaming skills to win a teddy bear at the fair, he is that unbelievable. He chooses you a small pink, fluffy teddy from one of the shelves along the back of the stall. He takes it from the man, thanking him, before turning and handing it to you.
"For you, my little good luck charm" His words sweet, making you scoff at his cheesy, cliché remark. Even though deep down you feel butterflies begin to erupt. And he knows you feel it too, not taking offence to your reaction and, instead, smiling widely at you causing a small smile to curl at the corners of your mouth, before stretching across your face to mirror his.
One of his hands gently reaches up and tucks a loose strand of hair behind your ear, before remaining on the side of your face and slowly caressing your cheek. Still smiling, he leans forward and places a loving kiss against your lips, lasting barely a minute before he pulls away. Regardless of how long the kiss lasted, your lips are still warm and tingling from the contact, causing you to pull your lower lip between your teeth, trying to prevent your smile from going wider.
"How about we go for that Ghost Train ride now, yeah?" He lowly whispers to you, a smile still gracing his features. You shyly nod, your actions making him chuckle slightly. He reaches for your hand, once again locking his fingers with yours and you both make your way towards the Ghost Train, hand in hand and blend in with the crowd.
