Chapter 5: Back to Base

This is set right after Adam got taken.

Ty's POV

"ADAM!!!!" I screamed as the squids pulled him into the water.

I sliced another squid in two with my sword wildly. There were only a few left.

Jason sliced the last squid surrounding him and dived underwater to save Adam, Jerome and Mitch were chopping up the last of the squids.

I turned and jumped into the water. I had to help Jason and Adam. I could hardly see under the water, it was so dark and murky and full of squid ink.

I began to swim in the direction I thought I saw Jason go in when I felt a hand grab the back of my shirt collar firmly and yank me out of the water and back onto a boat.

I looked up and saw Mitch looking down at me with concern.

"What are you doing?" I shouted angrily "We've got to help them!"

Mitch shook his head "Jerome's gone after Jason to help, he's a better swimmer and can hold his breath for longer. Face it dude, you aren't a good swimmer."

I sighed, he was right, I've never been a big fan of water. "Well, what do we do then?! We have to help them!"

Mitch began to steer the boat to shore, "And we will, let's call the others, maybe they can help."

I sighed and reached into my pocket to pull out my phone... Then I realised it wasn't there.

I swore and patted my pockets "I think I lost it in the water."

Mitch looked at me and then pointed to the bottom of the boat. Lying there next to my left foot was my phone.

"You really are an idiot sometimes Ty, you've got to calm down. You're not helping Adam by panicking." Mitch said shaking his head as we reached the shore.

I sighed and picked up the phone. Mitch pulled out his phone and called Ian, but soon swore and hung up. "No answer, they must still be doing the map Bodil made."

I sighed again and dialled Quentin's number, hoping for an answer.

It rung for Notch knows how long until he finally picked up. I could hear Ian swearing in the background and Bodil laughing. "Uh, hello?" He asked, he sounded tired.

"Quentin! We've got a problem!" I said urgently.

Quentin groaned "Can it wait? I just got my phone back from Bodil, he decided to watch us finish the map. Ian's still doing the map and I don't want to leave him." As he said that, I heard the sound of TNT exploding, screaming from Ian and laughing from Bodil.

"No it can't! The squids kidnapped Adam!" I practically shouted into the phone.

"What?!" Quentin yelped, "How?!"

"They ambushed us! Jason and Jerome have gone after them, hopefully they'll find him. Meet us back at base, we'll talk then ok?"

"Alright." Quentin said "Notch, I hope he's ok." Then he hung up.

I put my phone back in my pocket. Then I heard the sound of stone being mined, then dirt being dug up.

Soon a hole came up out of the ground, and Jerome climbed out wielding a stone pick axe, I could see Jason just under him.
