Monday morning came, I woke at around 3 AM. I had coffee and exercised then had another 2nd cup of coffee after working out. My day is looking a little bleak, it was our prelim hell week to top things off. Hindi pa man ako nakakarating ng school, ngarag na ako sa dami ng gagawin at kailangang i-submit na mga reports at papers. I've been working on these papers the last few weeks. Kaya petiks kami ni Bianca today all we needed to do was read and prepare for the upcoming prelim exam. Our exams were scheduled to start at Wednesday, First two days of the week is going to be a blur. Hindi na ako hinatid ni Mang Jose, since Bianca offered to drive us to school, tulad nang napagusapan namin. It feels a little weird now though, dahil pareho na kaming hindi nagsalita ukol sa lovelife namin, I can see the glow in Bianca's eyes, I'm sure it was about Julio. I knew Bianca spoke to me that night because she hated Kc, she said those things to spite me. That she didn't mean we should end our friendship. I drove Bianca's Montero Sport as she sat reviewing her notes on the front passenger seat, quizzing me from time to time as well.
Dumaan muna kami, sa Starbucks along New Manila, Q.C. to pick up my third cup of coffee and Bianca's first. I needed all the caffeine I could get to calm myself, because today would be a busy day plus stuck in traffic going to Manila. Sobrang nakakaloka ang combo na ito, it's a Monday staple for residents of Metro Manila, in fact every Monday and Friday and especially on Payday weekends and Christmas, basically all year round. LOL. I got Bianca her Flat White Coffee, while I settled for Brewed Coffee, no Sugar or Cream. I continued to drive to school as Bianca took a sip from her cup as she reads her handouts.
"Babe, yung ojt mo next sem, ayos na ba?" She asked me.
"Yeah, ayos na. Ikaw ba?" I said as I continued to drive us to school.
"Yeah, ayos na. Uy, nga pala. Yung party natin for Psychology students, pag-uusapan na namin ni Glai to ha?" She said.
"Ok babe, hanap na kayo ng mga guest artist ninyo. Ask Derick pala to draft three layouts for a poster for the said event, let him know I need those a week from now ha?" Bilin ko kay Bianca.
"Yep, I'll let him know." She said.
"I have to meet up with my staff pala this morning. I'll catch you later in class." I said to her.
"Sige." She said nonchalantly.
We reached the school at around 7 A.M. We parted ways in the parking lot at napagusapan naming magkikita na lang kami sa 1st subject namin for today. I went to the other side of the campus as she walked towards NRH Building. I thought I was going to be brought on the spot again, it's a good thing we didn't have to talk about Kc and what I would be doing with Glaiza, I honestly don't have any idea as of yet on how I will respond to Glaiza's stunt she pulled off last Saturday night. I hate being blocked on Social Media or being ignored it's one of my petpeeves lalo na sa mga kaibigan ko, Yes malakas akong mang-alaska pero bawal ang asar talo sa akin, lalo na kay Bianca at Solenn. If you have friends who are rowdy and a bunch of jokers, masasanay ka sa kanila at hahaba ang pasensiya mo.
Naglalakad na ako papunta sa office sa Central nang makasalubong ko si Glaiza, naglalakad ito papunta sa Law and Nursing Building. She flashed a smile at me. Dire-direcho lang ako sa paglakad ko. Praying she doesn't follow me. Pero lately, hindi nakikinig sa akin si Lord. Kaya naman, sinundan ako ni Glaiza.
"Rhian!" She called me.
Straight ahead lang ang tingin ko, kahit kanina ko pa nadidinig ang tawag nya. Nang makalapit ito she spoke once again.
"Rhian, mamansin ka naman lab."
"Lab, ano? Di mo na ako papansinin? Lab??? Binibiro lang kita nung sabado. Lakas mo kasi mampikon eh."
Dire-direcho lang ako, laking pasasalamat ko ng matanaw ko si Solenn na nakatayo sa harap ng office namin. I walked hurriedly towards Solenn and I hugged her.
"Baby, si GG ayaw akong tantanan. Help me." Bulong kong sabi kay Solenn.
"Uy Bibi. I miss you too." Solenn said.
"Lab? Pansinin mo naman ako oh." Glaiza said tila walang pakialam kay Solenn.
"Excuse me Miss Galura? Hindi ba dapat eh umaattend ka ng meeting ninyo sa Psychology Department?" Solenn asked Glaiza.
"Ah eh, meron ba?" Glaiza said.
"Ang alam ko meron. Si Bianca nagmessage kanina sakin, she said she's going to have a meeting daw." Solenn said.
"Ah, ganun ba, pwede ko ba muna maka-usap ang presidente ng department namin?" Glaiza said irritated.
"Sorry, Miss Galura but we are busy at the moment for our launch. Now off you go." Solenn said to her dismissively.
"Going back, baby yung photo shoot natin ok na." She said smiling at me.
Glaiza walked away and headed towards, NRH Hall. I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you, baby." I said smiling at Solenn.
"Lab naman pala." Solenn said laughing.
"Last time Mahal ang tawag nya sakin. Tingin ko talagang ganun lang yan si Glai, kundi lab eh mahal ko tawag sa kaibigan." I replied to Solenn.
"Sabi mo eh. Pero mukang panalo ako ng One thousand ah?" Solenn said laughing.
"Hoy, hindi pa nga umaamin eh." I said laughing.
"So hintayan pa?" Solenn raised an eyebrow at me.
"Che! Ewan ko sayo." I said laughing.
"Baby Whi, dalas mong magtampo, napapansin ko lang. FYI, Bianca told me." She smiled knowingly.
"Told you what?" I asked her.
"That you lose your temper quite frequently, joke! Hahahaha! Sasali daw sya sa shoot natin. Mahal ka talaga ni Bianca eh." Solenn said smiling.
Solenn always insisted that Bianca and I are more than best friends, in fact Solenn calls us her OTP, she even has a ship name for us. She's crazy like that, pero her observations are always true.
"Oo naman, mahal ako ni Bianca. Best friend ko nga sya eh." I said shaking my head at Solenn.
Inakbayan lang ako ni Solenn as we entered Central's office. Pagdating doon andun na ang art and photography director namin para sa project. Tim Yap, ang PRO ng Central. We had an hour meeting with him. Planning the layouts and he was a brilliant mind at sobrang dali ka-trabaho. By 9 am we were done with the meeting and I was off to find Bianca.
I plan to ignore Glaiza the whole week. Once I reached the Dean's office, andun na si Dean at may meeting ata sila. I entered the room.
"Miss Howell, good thing you're here. I was discussing to your officers the news, we will be having visitors from Chicago, next week after prelims ninyo." Dean Mendoza said smiling.
"Ay, sorry po Ma'am." I said to Dean Mendoza.
"Ok lang Miss Howell, with this in mind, I am assigning you and Bianca to head the welcoming committee for the visitors. Since you were both from that country." Dean Mendoza continued with the meeting.
She gave us all of the things we would be doing with the visitors. The schedule was packed with a tour of Binondo, Museums and such. We were excused for our classes, so that's a relief, menos sa iisipin at aasikasuhin namin for this term, like a slack week if you will. It's going to be fun. After the meeting Bianca and I attended our classes. The professors had us do a couple of essays about what we have learned so far.
