"Mommy? Is daddy okay?" The little girl asked her mother. "It's okay baby, he'll be here soon," she pauses, "I hope.." We sat there listening to the silence, taking in the loneliness.
It's been the same for the days that past. The news stretched far, the pain being expanded into the loss of Alpha Hunter of Blue Storm pack. The Luna losing her sanity, her daughter being sucked into darkness. The pack being destroyed, losing hope for their own lives. The dying howls at night, the cold air moving thorough the thick fur.
"I, Abigail Storm, give my daughter, Jessica Storm, the Alpha title," A sharp intake of air, "for I cannot continue." The silver blade slices through the soft flesh of Luna Abigail. Blood was shedded the night of the murder-moon.
PRESENT
I walk over to my walk-in closet and choose out my white v-neck long-sleeve sweater. I open a drawer and grab my dark blue skinny jeans.
Someone knocks on my door, "Alpha, it's time for the meeting." I open the door to look up to my beta, Kale.
"Kale." I can't help but smile at my loser boyfriend. He bows like a gentleman, "My lady." His breathtaking smile, messy black hair and forest green eyes. I haven't found my mate yet, which I'm happy about.
"Alpha, The pups are fighting again." Derek my Third in Command advices me. "Where are they?"
"Your office.." I stare at him furiously at him for putting them in my office, when he knew no one was aloud in there.
I growl lowly and walk towards the twins location.
I barge through the wooden doors and hear the most annoying scream from Liam.
"Stop it, Ashton!"
"Ow! Liam!"
"Get your ass out of my face!"
"Get your face out of my ass!"
"Why you little-"
"Enough!" My alpha tone seeping through.
"Jessica.. Ashton is being a little brat."
"Well. Liam's annoying me."
They keep complaining, not noticing how black my eyes are getting from hearing them argue.
I sit down behind my desk, carefully looking over recent rogue attacks.
My wolf begins taking control, annoyed of listening to the twins arguing.
"Stop now! I've had enough of this! Both of you, grow up. You're almost 18 for fuck sakes."
"Sorry, Alpha." They both bow their heads in shame.
"Out. I expect both of you to show up for the pack run tonight." I get up slowly and get my papers organized.
They get up and murmur a quick, "Yes, Alpha." And leave.
Taking my seat, I open up a book that has, "Becca.." engraved on the cover.
My eyes scan the pages, reading the letters of my ancestors and parents.
I pickup the letter left on my desk from my mother. The last one she wrote before her death.
Dear Becca,
My life has come to the end, my dear child. After your father passed, I've lost any reason to continue this journey. My mate, has died, my heart hurts.
I'm sorry for giving you the Alpha title to you at such a young age. I just needed to be free from this pain.
Just remember this one thing for me, baby. You are not alone. There are others, like you.
Love,
Mom
What does she mean by others like me?
I was wiped from my thoughts when Alpha Jordan knocked on my office door. "Come in."
In came Jordan, his son and his beta.
"Alpha Jasmine, this is my son, Jake and my beta Garrod." Alpha Jordan spoke. "Hello, thank you for coming. Please, sit." I gestured to the seats.
"Now, let's get down to business."
