"R-Rom...Romulus..."

No feeling was left in Lyla's body as her fingers twitched for the first time in three days. Her honey orbs remained hidden from the outside world, consumed in darkness as her mind slowly became active once again. Lyla couldn't feel her toes wiggle or the dryness of her throat when she managed to mumble her mate's name, numb to everything in existence as she slowly came back to life.

Lyla couldn't remember anything at that moment, only one thought clouding her mind as she muttered his name into the stale air. His crystal blue ocean eyes that paid visual in her mind left a warm feeling in the pit of her stomach as her face slowly grew into a grin. Those pools bringing her into a state of calmness, his existence doing to most to numb the pain she had yet to feel.

But as soon as he came to mind, Lyla's hand began to tingle, goosebumps then rising on her skin as she let out a satisfied breath of air. It ignited a light inside her soul as the touch slowly glided up her arm and back down to her hand, bringing all sense of touch back to that body part.

As the sensation continued, an audible beeping sound became louder and louder, then becoming faster as the seconds ticked by. Lyla groaned then, the sound hurting her ears as her eyes clenched in pain, missing the silence that once consumed her.

Even with the pain that resided in her eardrums, her body turned to lava, dripping and melting at a touch only one person could bring her. The touch continued upward as it glided across the right side of her neck, then to her jaw, then suddenly, the apple of her cheek that turned to heart.

She purred, her face digging deeper into his touch as a chuckle rumbled from his chest. "My little Flower."

As his nickname for Lyla left his chapped lips, her honey orbs began to open, slits turning into giant holes that quickly winced from the brightness of the ceiling lights. It felt like a white aura had consumed her soul as she tried to find the power to open her eyes completely, but failing even though she wished to see his face.

Those lights then disappeared, darkness consuming the pair as Lyla was finally able to open her eyes, the brightness of them finding a couple that made her heart flutter into the air. At first sight in three days of eternal rest, they fell onto the man who left her feeling complete, numb yet alive only to his existence.

"Rom- "

"Shh..." He whispered as his thumb brushed over the apple of her cheek. "Don't speak, Flower. The doctor is coming to check up on your- "

"Alpha. Luna."

Romulus' head quickly diverted away from Lyla and towards the doctor who slowly entered the room, carrying a clipboard in hand as a nurse followed. He felt his mate quickly change in demeanor as her heart monitor began to beep quicker and quicker. Romulus turned towards his mate again, smiling at her reassuringly as Lyla felt tears building in her eyes.
