Ban pov

I pack most of the stuff i think (y/n) will need while she packs her clothes. finishing up, I noticed (y/n) sleeping by her open bag.

'She must have been really tired.' I pick her up to move her to her bed and pull a soft blanket up to her shoulders.

I look at her soft, before face, taking in all her features. Her chin, her lips, her nose, her cheeks, her eyelashes, her eyebrow, and I try to imagine killing her.

A small hum escapes her lips, making me flinch. I snap out of the trance, and a wave of guilt washes over me.

'I should be able to eventually kill her. She is so unhappy being alive. She hates living.' I try to convince myself.

my mind keeps going back to how much I love talking to her. How much I'd miss her when she's gone.

'I'm sorry, Elaine.' I apologize, as if my late love could hear my thoughts now.
'I obviously have more feelings than friendship towards (y/n)... but I'm not going to stop trying to get you back. I won't give up. I just can't trade (y/n)'s life for yours.' A few tears escape my eyes.

(Y/n) pov

I wake up to loud banging on my door.  I slowly stand up with a groan, hoping there isn't an emergency. I hope my bar is ok.

I open the door with a yawn when I'm attacked. Diane hugs me tight, bruising some of my bones with her crazy strength.

"Yay!" Ahe squeals happily.

"I'm glad you're coming back." King says, floating behind her.

"I might reconsider it if you're planning on waking me up this early every morning" I say but they can hardly understand what I say, my voice being muffle by the way Diane is hugging me into her chest.

She lets me go, letting me catch me breath, while my bones heal.

"You just need to be on a better sleep schedule." She counters.

"Yeah, that's not going to happen." I sigh.

"Are you ready to get going now?" King asks.

"Let's start our next adventure!" Diane declares.

"No, no, I gotta quit my job first." I reply.

"Hurry up and do that." She tries to pout but can't stop smiling.

"I'll do that now if you'll bring my stuff to the bour hat for me." I tell them.

"Can do." Diane grabs the two large bags.

King looks around before picking up an unpacked pillow, then they both leave.

I take a few minutes to get ready for the day. Taking care of my hair and changing into something new, before walking to Carl's home, that's right next to mine.

I knock on his door, hoping I'm not waking him up.

"(Y/n)? What are you doing here?" He opens the door, fully dressed and awake.

Maybe I am the only one with the shitty sleep schedule.

"I need to talk to you and something. Can we sit?" I request.

"Yeah, of course, everything alright?"

We sit down on a wooden bench on his porch. His face turns a little pink as he anxiously waits for me to continue talking.

"I'm so sorry, I know this is going to add a lot of stress for you, even if you turn down my offer." I try to prepare him for the news.
"I'd like to transfer ownership of The Blue Elephant to you." I explain.

"What?" His eyes widen.

"I'm giving you The Blue Elephant." I rephrase.

"Why?" He would have smiled if he wasn't so confused.

"I'm leaving. I know, I know it's going to suck for a while. Especially since you don't have any other bartenders to help. I'd suggest closing it for a week or two while you search for employees. There's enough money in the bars budget for you to continue to pay yourself for a while while it's close. Or just use that to take time to find a new job. I'm sorry, I know this is a lot of new responsibility to just dump on you." I feel a little guilty.

"You're leaving?" He sounds hurt, looking at me with glossy eyes.

"Yeah..." I bite the inside of my cheek, realizing I was overthinking about the wrong thing.

"Why?" He frowns.

"I... some old friends need my help with something." I explain.

"Will you ever come back?" He asks.

"I hope so..." I give him a small sad smile.
"Save a job for me if I do?"

"Yeah, yeah, of course. Always. Holy shit, you're actually giving me your bar. Do you understand how crazy you are?" He laughs.

"Sometimes." The humor I add to my voice is weak.

He sharply inhales, pulling me into a hug.
"I'm going to miss you so, so much." He whispers.

"I'm going to miss you too." I hug back, feeling his warmth, hearing his heartbeat.

Someone clears their throat. I look up seeing Ban standing in front of my house.

"Ready to go?" Ban asks.

"Is there anything else you need to know?" I look at Carl.

"I got it covered." His words sound a little harsher.

"Goodbye." I stand up, walking to Ban, trying not to cry.

"Goodbye." Carl's voice is low in volume and tone.

"Thanks for taking care of her for me." Ban wraps an arm around me, giving him a smile before we start walking towards boar hat.

I keep trying not to cry. I didn't think leaving would hurt this much.

"Why didn't you wait at the boar hat?" I ask.

"Had to make sure there wasn't any lover boys that would convince you to stay. Looks like I got there just in time. Did you see the look on his face? Dude was ready to try to fight me." He chuckles.

"You didn't have to be such a dick." I step away so his arm could no longer be around me.

"He was actually pretty cute in a scrawny, rich, homeless kinda way. I can see why you wanted to stay." He tells me.

"Shut up." I say softly, a few tears falling down my face.

"We'll just need to get into enough fights to distract you." He says before finally letting us walk in silence.
