Chapter Twenty Eight

Kaneki's POV

"NO!! NO NO NO! (Y/N) WAKE UP!! STAY WITH ME! KEEP BREATHING YOU'RE GOING TO BE ALRIGHT!!" I screamed shaking her as her (e/c) eyes started to glaze over and couldn't focus. My heart was racing and my anger grew. 

"I love you..." Those were her last words. I held her close as I sobbed rocking back and forth as her head lay on my chest, body in my lap and her hand dangling lifelessly. 

"This wouldn't have happened if I didn't leave you like that... I should have stayed and protected you.." I sobbed as I heard low hitched breathing behind me as Luke started to laugh. I gritted my teeth, this was all his fault...

"You see Kaneki... If I can't have her, no one can.." He said breathlessly as he stared up at the sky with his broken teeth smiling like he had won. I laid (y/n) down gently and closed her eyes over as I stood up. Anger rushed through me and something in me had changed. I reached my hand up to my face to touch the blood she left on my cheek. I smiled as me eye changed to the blood red and death black as I licked her blood off of my fingers. I felt my back bubble as my new kagune burst out of my back and was now more powerful and electric in a way... Turning around I grinned devilishly at Luke as he turned his head. When he saw how I changed, his eyes widen as he tries to move away. But thats hard when you don't have any legs or arms.

I chuckled darkly. "It's hard to move when you have no legs or arms... Isn't it?" I purred walking closer as he wiggled like a worm. I put my hands on my face and licked my lips as my kagune moved faster than before, combined into one big tentacle as it stabbed Luke right through the chest and through the ground so he wouldn't move. I pounced on him and sat crouched on his body as I leaned down closer to his face, drool slowly escaping my mouth.

"I'm going to tear your apart, rip you limb from limb until you are at the point of no return." I smiled dangerously as I grabbed his shoulder and ripped his flesh off of his body. He screamed so loud it sent a thrill down my spine. Continuing to tear him apart, tears started to fall down my cheeks. 

"YOU BASTARD! SHE DIDN'T DESERVE THIS!" Soon enough my cries of pain were louder than his. There wasn't much too him as I looked down, he was missing his face and I had teared out his organs. Looking around my breathing became into panting as I saw what I was capable of. I looked down to my hands. Closing my eyes I retracted my kagune and stood up, my body almost lifeless as I couldn't stand straight. With my body swaying side to side I staggered my way over to (y/n)'s lifeless body. I crouched down next to her and gritted my teeth. She was still beautiful as ever, and I never got to reply to her last words. I cupped her cold cheek in my hand as I looked over her body. All the wounds she had, this was all because I couldn't protect her. I picked her up bridal style and began walking to the hospital. 

This was all my fault, non of this would have happened if I had just stayed and protected her...

The doctors took her in immediately to examine the body. I sat in the waiting room. I didn't want to leave her body. Even if she was dead. I turned my head to find Luke's body. Someone must have found him. Well, whats left of him anyway. They dragged him into the same room (y/n) was in and I furrowed my brows. Soon there was a panic and the doctors started to rush around. 

What on earth was happening...
