The Zantauch V Project

Year 1

There's a local shaman in one of the towns that must have the force. He told everyone that "the force has turned its back on Zantauch V" and to prepare for the end of the world. Luckily, everyone ignored him, including the empire. And no one asked any questions when his body was found dead in his home when I poisoned his morning tea. It was immediately ruled as a suicide, so our secret project is safe. I guess with a range as big as this machine, they wouldn't be able to pinpoint the exact location. It'd probably take months just to narrow it down to less than a hundred kilometers, so I doubt they'd find the device.

I've managed to convince the local authorities and the imperials that I'm legit. They don't know about my connection to the cause, and found no criminal record since I didn't commit any crimes back on Coruscant. I've been working as a bank broker these past ten months, and gotten quite good at it. 

The Rebel element is negligible. There's a communist movement growing that wants tighter Imperial control and oversight. Before the machine was put in place, this movement was 4 people that were ignored by their town... then the very next day it's like it spread like wildfire. I have no doubt that the force was holding their movement down so the Empire's control over this world wouldn't become so micromanaged that it couldn't incite change. Or maybe it has more to do with balance? Maybe the force wants a strong resistance movement that wants the Empire gone, rather than an extremist movement that wants the Empire to hold even more power.

I can't really see anything else that changed drastically during the initial stages of the force losing influence. There are a lot of people saying they want to be Jedi, but I think that might just be youngsters longing for adventure, hearing the tales of the Clone Wars, and wanting to inject themselves into that.
