I cover my eyes from the bright sun and squint looking around at the crowds of people. People with smiles as big as my own and fabrics of all colors clinging to their bodies. Girls makeup precisely painted on their skin, barely smudged under this summer sun. Men dressed in their designer they wouldn't dare touch any other day.

People walked about aimlessly or as if they'd walked this landscape before. Just by the way they walked you'd think they helped plan the festivities or you'd wonder if it's the 'my cousin's sister's uncle Joe helped a F list celebrity get in the line up' type of people.

Then you have me and my friends,

Nya Valdi, Kevin Falcon and Tori Bridges walking around in pure amazement. Kids in a candy store. We are currently at Camp Flog Gnaw, one of the most popular music festivals in LA. Or so that's what we think.

"It's so many beautiful people out here." My best friend Tori says with a bright smile linking her arm around mine. We all nod agreeing with her just happy to be here. We had been on a few rides being that we've been here for a few hours but this camp is huge so as you can imagine it's a lot more for us to see.

"Who are y'all excited to see tomorrow?" I ask playing with my bracelets on my wrist as we walk.

"I can't wait to see Jorja Smith." Kevin says, Nya nods in agreement and I frown cause I'm going to miss her performance. Tori asked me to come with her to the Flog stage to see Jaden Smith and Billie Eilish. I don't mind, I like their music so I'll enjoy at least one part of the set.

"Y'all have to record her set and Lauryn Hill's for Mommy." My mother Sade loves Lauryn Hill, I told her to come but she 'didn't want to hang around a bunch of half naked kids.'

"I can't wait to see Billie." Tori squeals like a 14 year old and I roll my eyes playfully.

"The obsession you have for her is insane." I say laughing, she adores Billie and if she missed her performance I know she'd never forgive us. I must admit, she's a beautiful girl and her voice is out of this world so I'm sure I'll enjoy her set. Tori has shown me plenty of concert footage of hers to let me know that she at has great stage presence.

"The obsession you have for Goldlink is insane." She retorts. Touché. I love Goldlink so much, I met him at a show here in LA and he called me beautiful. I could've swore we were married because of that. I've been to every show he does out here and I'm pretty sure he remembers my face.

"She has a right to be obsessed. D'Anthony is fine." Nya says and we all nod in agreement.

"And stop acting like you don't think Billie's cute." Tori says bringing the conversation back to Billie.

"I never said that. She's stunning but she's not my type." I shrug, she's not. I don't discriminate but she just doesn't fit what I'd see myself with. She gives me dominant vibes, like she'd make you fall to her knees and do whatever she says and that's not me. Anymore.

"You still on that wanting to be dominant thing?" Nya scoffs, rolling her eyes.

"Yes I most certainly am." I say and they all wave me off not wanting to hear it.

"I think her style is more so a cover up. If you actually pay attention to her music she gives off real submissive vibes and she's said it before in an interview." Kevin says schooling me. That's why you don't judge a book by its cover Sada.

"I'm sorry that I want someone to be submissive to me." I frown, I'm always the submissive and I never get to show my dominant side in any situation I'm in whether it's sex or in a relationship period.
