I was currently waiting outside my house for Charlie to show up. When she did, Memo talked to her. After that was when I learned what happened. Apparently she and Memo snuck off to rescue Bumblebee, who regained his memory and now Bee and Jazz had left. So now, neither me or Charlie had a car.
Well, until Charlie fixed up that Corvette. So now she had a car. She was happy, though I knew in her mind, she would never forget the one who brought her out of her depression. She was happy. I tried to be happy. But ever since I made Jazz leave I haven't been the same. Now I was the one who rarely smiled. I was the extremely depressed one. It was all I could do to hope that maybe one day... maybe I would meet Jazz again.
~~20 years later~~
I smile at the several males talking on the plane I was on. They were my teammates. We were currently being flown to a base in Qatar where we would eventually be flown home from there. I was so excited to go home and see Charlie and Memo, as well as my parents and Otis, the annoying little brat. I haven't seen them for a few years.
We soon landed, and I immediately went to the female barracks to take a shower. I was covered in dirt and sweat, and I was just on a plane with several sweaty army men. I smelled awful. However, it was something you got used to.
After a nice shower, and a new change of clothes, I felt more awake than I did before. I smiled as I went back to the recreation area and came across Caption Lennox on a computer talking to his wife and young daughter.
I chuckled at his words. He was adorable when it came to his family.
"Lennox, stop being adorable", I called out.
"Shut up, Watson!" he called back. I heard his wife laugh at those words, and it made me smile.
"Hey, Watson, how you doing?" Epps was walking next to me now.
"I'm doing pretty good, Epps. How 'bout you?"
"Eh, I'm doing pretty good, shorty", he says as he rests and arm on my shoulder. In an instant, he was on his back, and I was hissing in his ear.
"Don't call me shorty", I hiss. Epps was surprised but quickly surrendered.
"Alright, Watson", he says. I release him from the position he was in and he instantly let's out a sigh of relief.
"You've got a pretty strong grip there sh- Watson. Mind me asking why I can't call you that?"
"No one is allowed to call me that", I mutter, pain flashing through my eyes as my thoughts go back to... no. I thought I was over this. I shove the memories back and harden my eyes, showing no emotion.
I know Epps was concerned but I didn't know how much.
"Emily", he says softly. "You're crying."
I wipe away at my face and notice that my face was indeed wet with tears. I chuckle softly.
"I thought I got over him a long time ago", I whisper. "Evidently not."
"Who?" Epps asks. "If you don't mind me asking."
"I called him Jazz. He was the first I ever loved. The first and so far the only. He was my best friend. I... I sent him away to p-protect him. There... there were s-some peop-people... they... they wanted to harm him. He... he wanted to stay with me but I, I, I... I refused to let him", I was crying even more as I let my walls down. Epps stared at me softly before pulling me close to him, giving me hug. It surprised me, but I was grateful for the action.
