(Rob's POV)
As I sat in the shade of the trees things didn't seem familiar anymore, sighing I turned my head to see that the others were sitting near the lake and were talking, 'they don't let me go anywhere alone because they are afraid.' I thought as I watched them.
'Afraid that I'm going to hurt myself or are they afraid that I might get lost?' I thought looking towards the ground in front of me, I could only sit there sadness washing over me in waves as the bittersweet memory of the exact kiss that Preston gave me before he passed away.
Baring my teeth I was in my wolf form so that I didn't show many emotions yet without Preston the pack had almost broke apart multiple times and it had only been a week, "Why couldn't you stay with us....." I whispered looking up at the sky that didn't have a single cloud in the sky.
Memories flashed as I remembered what the clouds meant the other week, 'they meant that there was going to be a battle and Preston was going to be in it.' I thought as I watched the leaves blow in the wind.
"Rob?" Mitch's voice asked from behind me, turning my head I saw that Mitch was standing there tensed up, 'he's afraid' I thought as I looked at him, "What is it Mitch." I said turning my gaze back towards the trees while digging my claws into the ground.
"Are you okay?" Mitch asked as he moved around behind me. "I'm.....fine...." I said with sadness, but I didn't hold any emotion back "Please don't get mad when I say this." Mitch said sitting next to me but left a bit of a gap.
'He's afraid of me, not for me' I thought as I stared at the ground, "We're going to keep on moving, we don't want to stay around this area." Mitch said, looking at him I saw him flinch, 'probably thought I was going to attack him.' I thought still looking at him.
"I wouldn't hurt you, we've been friends since day two of this long adventure" I said not taking my gaze off of him. "You've been moody lately so sorry if I flinch or jump away from you." Mitch said looking at the ground in embarrassment.
"Still I wouldn't hurt anyone in the pack, not even Matt or Pete they were the last ones to join the pack." I said to him, "Okay, well we're leaving tomorrow okay." Mitch said reassuringly to me, "Okay." I replied simply.
As Mitch walked away my mind started going over all the memories of me and Preston, 'Preston was strong to face someone like Leon who was apparently his childhood friend, so I should stay strong for the pack.' I thought looking up into the trees.
Getting up I knew that the pack would need more supplies than we have now, stretching I glanced back to see that they weren't paying attention to me, running into the trees I made a list of everything the pack would need.
'a place to sleep, a way to get water, a way to get food, and a way to escape if there's danger.' I thought and stopped in my tracks, 'I know where to go!' I thought turning around and ran through the trees and turned only to stay in the trees and to avoid the pack.
As I ran I came out to two large cliffs, they had a stream running through it, and one wall had a cave with a hidden path that was engraved into the walls of the cliff and as I walked towards the den jumped into the small river that only went up to my belly considering that I was a wolf.
Getting across easily I looked around to see that I could make it to the top of the cliffs, jumping onto the walls, I pushed myself to the top until I was at the top of the cliffs, walking to the edge of the cliff I looked out across the land.
I could see the lake, the school, even the old villages and the old castles that use to stand high and mighty back then when we first fought Leon, looking around the faint scent of Preston's wolf wafted around me.
Closing my eyes I enjoyed the sun light on me, and I enjoyed the sweet smell of the flowers around me, opening my eyes I knew I would have to call to the pack 'protect them' a voice said in my head.
Looking at the sky it was getting dark, and the pack would be missing me, letting out a long howl, I only now realized how much the pack meant to me, and when I stopped howling I listened until Andi's howl rang out from the woods.
Howling again I didn't move from where I was until I saw several figures running out from the woods, I watched them as they looked confused, smirking I knew that jumping down from this height the least damage that would happen is getting a few broken bones.
"Guys up here!" I yelled down to them, I saw them all look up at me, still smirking I looked around for a good place to skid down the rock face, as soon as I saw it I started going down the face of the rock.
Running towards them I skidded to a halt and held my head high, "How did you get up there?" Mitch asked, "I climbed up there." I said looking up to where I was, "Well did you find anything atleast?" Connor asked, "Yeah there's a cave with a pathway leading up to in in the wall." I said looking towards the cave
"Okay." Connor said walking towards the cave with Matt, Pete, and Andi following behind him, "Mind taking us up there?" Mitch asked still looking at the cliff, "Sure this way!" I said running towards one of the walls and jumped up onto it and started climbing.
"Up here!" I said looking towards them as they followed me, pushing on wards I managed to get onto the top, walking to the side I looked out to see that it was almost night time and the sun was setting in front of me.
Sitting down I watched the sun the memories of the past flashing by like I was watching it all play out again, I felt someone sit beside me, "Hey Mitch do you think everything will be the same?" I asked him while looking at the sunset.
"Nothing can be the same Rob, Preston left a large indent in not only ours but everyone's life, he's the hero that no one could see, he's the protector in the shadows, he's the fire that keeps everyone going." Mitch said.
"If anything we need to keep strong not for everyone else, but for him." Vikk said with a lot of hope, "He went above and beyond, he defeated someone who use to be stronger than him." Vikk said.
"In fact he defeated a group of people that he once couldn't beat, yeah he always had the same hunger for justice but he definitely changed through out this journey" Vikk said with a bit of sadness.
"He always told me to be someone that I want to be and not someone everyone else want me to be." Jerome said comfortingly, "He always said be strong like a dragon, but brave like a wolf, gentle as a sheep, and unique like everything." Lachlan said like he was saying them from a memory.
"Well I guess we're going to have to keep our promises, just like how he kept his, but I'm afraid that we won't be the same without Preston." I said getting up, "Of course we won't Preston always made himself seem like the bad guy that's how he grew up." Connor said from behind me.
Turning around I saw Andi, Matt, Pete, and Connor standing there, "Remember back when we were in the nether and you guys came to save us and Preston seemed to be with the bad guys?" Pete asked.
"Yeah we found Lyric there." I said confused as the others got up, "I remember him telling me that he would never betray us, and that he needed them to trust him." Pete said looking at me, "Anyways we need rest, if we are to keep our promises and protect this world, even without our powers we need to be ready for anything." Connor said turning around and started heading down.
Following him I couldn't help but feel....
Like this wasn't the end of this whole adventure
Besides does a river stop at a single rock?
No......it will find a way around.
So better be ready because I won't stop fighting until the end.
