August POV

I sighed loudly and looked at my watch.

"LYRIC COME ON! WE GO MISS OUR FLIGHT CAUSE OF YO ASS_!"

She smacked her teeth loudly and I know her smart ass_ was rolling her eyes.

"DO NOT RUSH ME AUGUST ANTHONY ALSINA!"

I rolled my eyes and leaned on the wall. Maiya was sound asleep on the couch. This girl sleep so hard, she wouldn't hear it if the whole damn_ house blew up.

"Okay now we can leave"

I rolled my eyes at her and she just smiled and pecked my lips.

"Love you to"

I smirked and shook my head at her as she picked up Maiya. I grabbed her bags and brought them out to the car.

I started it up and turned up the heat. I looked over at Lyric, she was all up into her phone.

She glanced up and smiled when she saw me staring.

"What?"

I shook my head and rubbed her cheek and leaned over and kissed her lips. She smiled and held my face to hers and kept the kiss going.

I bit my bottom lip when she pulled back and she smirked.

"Bruh you be playin"I said as I laid my head on the steering wheel. She giggled and I shook my head.

"It won't be to long I promise"She said softly. I looked at her and she smiled. I chuckled softly and grabbed her hand and kissed it as I backed out.

"I'm go hold you to that bae"

"Hey suga, its about time y'all got here"Her grandma said. I smiled and leaned down and kissed her cheek.

"We almost missed our flight cause Lyric wants to wait until the last minute to pack"

She hit my chest and I laughed and her grandma chuckled.

"And who's this lil cutie?"She asked as she tugged on Maiya's cheek. She smiled shyly and hid behind my leg.

"This my neice Maiya. Say hey, stop acting shy"I said as I picked her up.

"Hi"She said and smiled.

"Hey baby, I'm Tammy, you can just call me Nana"

I smiled as Maiya grinned at her.

"Well y'all go ahead and get situated. I'll get started on some lunch"

We nodded and headed up to Lyrics old room. I put our bags down and went out across the hall and put Maiya's bag in the guest room.

She quickly ran out the room to where Lyrcis' grandma was. I chuckled and went back to our room.

"It feels so good to be back home"She said. I nodded and smiled.

"Yea, aint nothing like being in NOLA I'll tell you that"

She grinned and walked over to me and pecked my lips.

"So, Monica wants to go out later soooo you and Dre can have some boy time"

I laughed.

"But?"I asked. She grinned.

"You know me so well. Just...no strip clubs"

My smile dropped and she pinched my cheeks.

"Please"She pouted. I rolled my eyes playfully.

"Iight bae, no strip clubs"

She kissed my lips and rubbed my chest.

"Thank you"

I shook my head and followed her out the door.

Lyric POV

"How are things with you guys?"I asked Monica. She sighed.

"Things could be better. Dre wants another kid"

I rose a brow.

"And that's a bad thing?"I asked confused. She ran her fingers through her hair and sipped some of her drink.

"Its just, idk. I love my daughter I do. But that was an unplanned pregnancy. I wasn't ready for a child when I got pregnant. I don't know if I want another baby. Dre's barely home because he travels with his job. I'm balancing taking care of Imani and work. Its hard. Don't get me wrong, when Dre is home he does help. But its not enough"

"Have you told him?"I asked. She shook her head.

"No, not yet. He thinks that we're working on the baby right now. But I'm on the pill"

I sighed and looked at her.

"Now I may be young. And I'm not the smartest fruit in the pumpkin patch...but don't you think he's gonna figure out that something's up if you're not pregnant soon?"

She laughed a little.

"Yea, you definitely are from New Orleans. The smartest fruit in the pumpkin patch?"

We laughed loudly and she sighed.

"I guess you're right."

She smiled a little.

"When me and Harmony used to hang out, it used to be her giving me relationship advice. I see you have a bit of her in you"

I winked.

"Duh"

August POV

"So you and Lyric getting serious huh?"Dre asked. I nodded and smirked.

"Yea man, that's wifey right there"

He chuckled and took a sip of his drink.

"Never thought I'd see the day when you got serious with a girl"

I shrugged and picked up my beer.

"She different from all these other girls round here. Normally I wouldn't be with nobody who got a bad attitude and all that ******but I like it on her. She might be young and all, but she got the mind of a grown woman"

He nodded.

"I respect that man. Her and Monica be running they mouth all the day on the damn_ phone. I swear Monica bout ready to plan y'all wedding"

I laughed and shook my head.

"Nah man, I aint ready for all that yet. I'm scared of that word"

We laughed and he sighed.

"So,you know how I been wanting another baby right?"

I nodded and looked at him.

"Monica think I don't know, but she still on the pill bruh"

"Damn_ how you found out?"I asked.

"When I went to go take the trash out, the prescription fell out"

I shook my head and sighed.

"Why you think she hiding it from you?"I asked. He shrugged.

"Idk, I thought she wanted another baby too. I mean when I told her I wanted one she seemed happy"

"Just talk to her man"

He nodded and looked at me.

"So, when you and Lyric go start popping out babies?"

I chuckled and shrugged.

"She gotta let me hit first man"

He bust out laughing and I flipped him off and laughed.

"***** you bruh"

Aint nothing like being home man.
