Chapter 1

Chapter One~

"Your insecure, don't know what for..." I turned off the radio before I could hear another word. I don't hate One Direction, it's just that it gets me depressed.

Liam Payne has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. I told him all my secrets and we always talked about becoming famous together. Sadly, that never got to be. We both tried out for the X-Factor, I didn't make it through. I was still happy he made it, he's always had a love for music and he is very talented. I just didn't know that him becoming famous would rip us apart... I remember the day he left like it was yesterday.

~ Flashback~

Liam had tears welled in his eyes, both of sadness and happiness. He walked up to me where I too had tears streaming down my face. I mean, I'm happy he's getting to live out his dream but I'm also sad my best friend was leaving me.

He took my face in his hands and said his final goodbye , " Jeanette, I'm going to miss you so much, but this isn't goodbye. I will call you, text you, and Skype you whenever I can. I don't know what I'm gonna do without you by my side, giving me advice, or making sarcastic comments. But you will always have the locket I gave you. When your in a bad mood look at the locket and I will be thinking of you."

I looked down at the locket he gave me when I was fifteen, it was the 10th year anniversary of us being friends. The first picture we ever took together was tucked inside.

"I'll miss you so much Liam, you have no idea." My voice raw from all the crying. I gave him one last hug and hung on to him for dear life.

I finally released him and he started walking towards the awaiting limo. He turned around one last time and waved goodbye. The next thing I knew the door was slammed shut and the car was long gone.

I didn't expect that to be the last time I ever saw him, then again, when do I ever expect what's right.
