KATNISS' POV
Its Oakley's sweet little cry that snaps me into reality, I try to even my breathing. My palms are sweating and my muscles are so tight, i can't even let go of the knife
"Help!" i yell as loud as i can, which isn't very loud at all, Gale bursts through the door
"Katniss" he yells when he sees the surgical knife in my hand, he runs over and pulls it out
"What are you doing?!" he asks, his voice panicked and unsteady
"I... I don't know!" i say, my eyes welling with tears
Gale helps me up and hugs me
"Its okay" he says, i can hear his steady heartbeat, it comforts me the way peeta's does, suddenly i look up at him with wide eyes
"How did you hear me?"
"Well, i was just outside in the hall, your mom wouldn't let me go in but i refused to leave that area"
I quickly pull away and stare at him
"What?" Gale asks
I don't know what to make of any of this, Peeta is gone, Gale isn't. Peeta isn't comforting me, Gale is. Peeta isn't helping take care of Oakley, Gale is. Peeta is the one I love, Gale isn't.
I know Gale is just trying to mend our relationship, but he doesn't realize how much he's like Peeta in that way.
When it comes to most things, Gale and peeta couldn't be more opposite; Gale is more violent, stubborn, rebellious, not understanding, strong, over protective and skilled. Peeta is more sweet, kind, supportive, protective, creative.
There is only one thing they have in common, they love me. And when they are trying to prove it, it's almost hard to tell their personalities apart
"Gale, stop" i say at last
"What's wrong katnip?" he says worriedly
"Your just too much like..." i'm not even able to finish the sentence. Gale's face goes dark, then light again, as he nods and leaves the room.

As i clutch Oakley, i wait. Gale said that they were working on a way to figure out how to get Peeta and Bare back. All i can do is wait for his words
Finally after what felt like a lifetime, I hear Gale call my name, so I run into the center room, when I turn the corner a screen flashes in front of me, it's Bare.
So, this chapter is short, I know I said I'm totally fine with it but it's kinda extra short, whatevs 🤷🏽♀️
