Mr and Mrs Roberts were lovely parents who loved each other deeply. The Roberts were a perfectly normal family, they lived on a farm in the countryside. They also had two wonderful children, William and Anna, who were polite and obedient.

Mr Roberts worked as an banker in central London. He was a chubby and small with a long, bushy moustache. Mrs Roberts was thin and had an exceptional tiny waist. She had long brown hair, it went all the way down to her waist. Mrs Roberts would always have straw from the farm or petals from her garden in her long curly hair. The Roberts had a son, William, who was cheeky, cocky and caring. They also had a daughter who would always help others and loved caring for the animals on the farm. Mr Roberts had a brother who was exactly like William but a hundred times worse. Mr Roberts hated his brother Frank because he was an alcoholic and was the leader of an notorious gang in London. The gang was called 'The Shadow Men', they robbed people's houses at night when it was pitch black. They were never seen or heard so no one could ever catch them but everyone knew what they did.

Our story starts when John and Mary Roberts woke up on a bright, sunny thursday. There was not a cloud in the sky, this was not unusual weather for the countryside. This morning was the same as always, John trying to find a tie getting more stressed by the minute, then Mary finding it and tying his tie for him, then getting the children up, making breakfast for them and finally handing John his briefcase and kissing him on the cheek as he goes out the door. Their was one difference though this morning, it was Wills birthday. Mary had let Will sleep in, while she tended to the farm. At half seven, for breakfast she cooked eggs, toast, coffee and Wills favourite bacon. Once Will and Ann woke they ate the big breakfast and Mary gave Will toy soldiers as a birthday present.

When John was walking towards the car to go to work, he saw out of the corner of his eye a tall figure leaning against the fence which kept the cows in. John quickly turned to see who the figure was but when he turned, the figure was gone. As John got into his Anyos Jedik's early electric motor car, he came to the conclusion that he was imagining things because it was very early in the morning

Finally after the normal London traffic, he arrived at the bank. He went to his office and checked the books were up to date. Throughout the day he kept looking at his sliver pocket watch checking the time because he couldn't finish his shift so he could get home to give Will his birthday present. His day was perfectly normal, he had a joke with his co-worker and best friend Edward Baker who he has known since private school. He made lots of deals. He was in a brilliant mood until he went for his break. While he was having his cigarette outside, he heard a familiar name come from a group of men gossiping.

"The police finally have enough evidence to arrest the leader of The Shadow Man, Frank Roberts"

John started to feel anxious because he knew Frank would be on the run. Since all of the rest of the Roberts hated Frank, he would probably turn up at Johns farm because he knows Marys to kind-hearted to turn him away. Wherever Frank goes trouble follows.

John sprinted inside to tell his boss he had a family emergency but then he realised it might just be gossip. Throughout the day, John couldn't stop worrying so he came to the decision to go buy a newspaper at the end of the day.

He left work at half six and went straight to the newsagent passing some homeless looking children. After he bought the evening telegraph, he rushed back to his car to read it. Once John was in his car, he quickly flipped through the pages of the evening telegraph. Suddenly a headline caught his eye, it read 'Finally the night terrors are over!' It went on to say 'At quarter to five in the morning the police raided the well known gang 'The Shadow Men' hideout after finally having enough evidence to arrest the gang. The police managed to get most gang members but unfortunately they didn't get a few including the gangs leader 'Frank Roberts'. John was petrified. He rushed home, hoping that he was wrong, which he had never hoped before, because he was always right.
