Natsu was just coming back from a long mission, it took him approximately a week to complete it, as he got to the guild he kicked the front door open with a big goofy smile on his face “I’M BACK!!!” he yelled like he always did.
Lucy gave a sigh and a light giggle and said “well you seem just as energetic as ever but did you really have to kick the door?!” Natsu walked over to Lucy and replied “its more fun than going in the normal way, at least i’m not as bad as Gildarts” he gave a slight chuckle as there was a fresh hole in the wall from Gildarts.
Lucy looked at him and saw his well toned muscles giving a blush “w-whats wrong with me i’ve seen them countless times before s-so why n-now?” she thought to herself, Natsu saw her blush and asked “hey Lucy are you okay? your face is red” Lucy’s blush then grew ever so slightly as she replied stuttering a bit “o-oh w-well it's just so.. hot! yeah its just hot in here with so many people”
Natsu then tilted his head not fully believing her but answered “alright if you say so” he stretched a bit as he then sat down next to her, Lucy moved away a little something she rarely ever did, her heart was pounding fast.
Natsu called for Mira to give him some food, he wanted his usual steaks well done, he took a glance at her showing his big goofy smile “wanna hang out or go on a mission later Lucy?” he asked as he waited for his food, Lucy then nodded slowly and kinda cutely “y-yeah of course Natsu we haven’t seen eachother in a week” she gave her warm gentle smile at him
Natsu’s food soon arrived and he ate it fast like usual getting food all over his face, lucy gave a small giggle and wiped his face with a napkin “you never change Natsu” she said as she had a warm smile on her face, Natsu said and nodded childishly “nope i never have and never will” he then stood up and offered his hand, Lucy took it and stood up saying “thank you” she let go of his hand and looked at the mission board “lets do a mission together” she said, Natsu then looked at her excitedly “yeah! i’m all fired up after that meal!!” he ran of to the mission board with her looking at all the different missions, there were one mission in particular that caught Lucy’s eyes, she took it and looked closer at it then after a bit said “this one seems good enough, and the reward is more than enough to cover my rent” she said as she looked at Natsu then gave him a cute look “can we pleaaaase do this one”
without being able to resist her cuteness he said “sure Lucy, i know it’ll be easy for us since were such a good team” he fist bumped her then headed out of the guild with her they were gonna have to take the train to get where they needed to, a little town to the east called paragon
Natsu complained “do we really have to take the train Lucy?” he looked at her and clinged a bit to her, Lucy replied him with a chuckle and sweet sounding voice “yeah but i’ll let you sleep in my lap” she said as a small blush grew on her face instantly as she said it Natsu’s eyes then sparkled and he looked at her “thank you Lucy!” he gave her a really tight hug making their chests pressed against together, Lucy’s blush grew and grew “yeah yeah don’t mention it besides you usually do it anyways” she chuckled hoping he’ll let go, Natsu had a big goofy smile on his face as he slowly let go.
they got into one of the rooms of the train and closed then locked the door, Lucy sat down in the corner of the couch as Natsu then laid down putting is head on her lap instantly and fell asleep, Lucy giggled and thought to herself “he’s so cute when he's sleeping..” the train started moving to where it was headed as Natsu held onto Lucy a bit, he had never done this so Lucy got surprised and blushed ever so slightly but gives a warm smile as she started to play with his hair as she hummed lowly.
the train arrived in pargon a few hours later, Lucy gently shook Natsu “Natsu were here, i’ll get you something to eat if you wake up” she knew how to wake him up and as she thought he stood up like a rocket, Lucy laughed a bit as she had a warm smile on her face and stood up “Lets go Natsu” she said softly as she started walking out of the train with him, Natsu looked around excitedly as his stomach grumbled a bit, Lucy then took his hand and pulled him to the side of the road not letting go “alright you fine with a few sandwiches?” she asked as she took one out, Natsu lightly blushed and nodded then took it “thank you Lucy” he started to eat it looking a bit like a child, Lucy giggled at him with her smile, as Natsu finished eating Lucy pulled him as she started to walk, Natsu reacted and said “h-hey” he laughed a bit as he walked with her “so what was the mission about?” he asked as he looked straight at her, Lucy looked at him and said “beat some bandits up and bring back stolen goods” Natsu stretched a bit and gave his usual smirk “I’M ALL FIRED UP!!!!!” he then screamed on the top of his lungs as he grabbed Lucy’s hand and started running to the edge of town.
