The lights were flashing, air masks were dropping. The flight attendants were running up and down the aisles saying, "Buckle up!" The plane was moving side to side, then it dropped straight down.

                                                                              The Day Before

It was a sunny day out, when a 17 year old girl named Oklahoma was packing her clothes. Her brown hair flowed down to her shoulders, she had beautiful grey eyes. The doctor said it was a one in one million chance when she was born. She was about 5'5 and she lived in Walchville, Iowa. It was her junior year and she was struggling. Her parents thought it'd be a good idea her to go see her aunt in Florida.

"Lets go Oakley!" hollered her mom Jane.

Oakley was what all her friends and family called her. Only one teacher called Oklahoma; Mr. Paterson. She hated him, he was always criticizing her on her work. She's gotten kicked out of his class many times but she didn't care this was her last year with him.

"Oakley get down here we're gonna be late. By the time we get to the airport, your spring break is gonna be over."

"I'm coming mom! Geez be patient."

They both got in the car, and were driving away when Oakley yelled, "My phone!!" They pulled back into the driveway, and Oakley ran into the house. Up the stairs into her room, grabbed her phone and ran outside. Backing out of the driveway, it was silent.

"Mom, are you and dad gonna miss me?"

     "Of course we will!"

Halfway to the airport Jane started singing, Oakley loved listening to her mom sing. Her mom was the best singer she knew. When the song stopped she asked her mom why she never became a singer.

"I had you at 17 so I was still in school and just didn't have the time."

     "Oh."

They made it to the airport 1 ½ hours later. Oakley was sleeping, her mom woke her up and they both got out. Walking up to the doors, Oakley grabbed her mom's hand, this was her first time on a plane.
