Chapter 18 of Perfect Is Boring
"Uh, hey Camille." Rayon spoke up while continuing to help me. "Hi." I said plainly not looking at him anymore. We got up at the same time and Rayon was holding my books while I tried to put my phone back together.
Once I did, I stuffed my phone in my back pocket and got my books from Rayon. "Want me to walk you to class?" he asked me. I thought he was mad at me. "No." I answered while walking past him.
"Wait!" he called out as he ran after me. He stopped me by pulling my arm back and turning me around. "Hey, can we talk?" he asked. "No, I'll be late for seventh period." I told him.
"I will to but this is important." he said. "School is important to me." I argued. "Stop playing, Camille." he joked while laughing at his own joke. I just stood there with a straight face finding his joke not funny at all.
"Cmon, that was funny." he assured me. "No I wasn't." I commented. "Can I go now?" I asked him, it was a retorical question so I walked away but he stopped me again and this time he pulled me into the Janitor's closet.
"What the hell?!" I yelled at him as I watched him lock the door. "Look, I just wanted to apologize." he started but I interrupted him with: "Apology denied now opened the door."
"Just hear me out." he said with his hand on the doorknob preventing me from getting out. "I apologize for getting so mad the other day. I admit that I overreacted that day, I was just mad at the thought that you didn't trust me." he explained.
"All that wasn't called for." I reminded him. "I know, and I feel mad guilty for making you cry. You didn't deserve that feeling." he whispered a little. "Well.." I started giving him a smile then wiping it off as a straight face while saying: "ERROR! apology denied."
I ran out the closet before he could stop me and i took all my things and walked away, quickly. Kinda feeling a little proud that I did that but then again, not so good. Mixed emotions.
