Tell me, what is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of witches? Some may say Satan worshipping men and women, others may think of men and women who kill children and use their blood as love potions, while others might actually be correct.

A witch is either a man or a women who casts/creates spells. Some work with candles. herbs, crystals, and more, like I do. Not all of us are evil, actually. As a matter of fact, most of us are very kind-hearted and only do spells that will benefit us and the world around us. And if you think we run naked around in the woods, chasing children, and using dog tongues in our potions, you couldn't be more wrong, that's all Hollywood. This false interpretation is exactly why Sleepaway Meadows was made many years ago. Well, specifically in the 1600's, when the Salem Witch Trials were taking place.

A little background on Sleepaway Meadows: Sleepaway Meadows, known as SM, was built in the 1600's, as I said before. Witches didn't feel safe around mortals- they feared that they'd get hanged, or worse, burned. Mortals were terrified of witches, for whatever reason. Witches were burned, hanged, and clearly killed in much more violent ways. To this day, there are many places like Sleepaway Meadows around the world that serve the same purpose.

Okay, let's get back to current times.

I was in the car with my two dads. We were driving past many trees with our windows rolled down, the scent of the forest filled my nostrils. I inhaled and exhaled, just thinking about our destination- wait, I didn't mention what was happening, did I? My dads and I were 3 of the very few witches that lived in the mortal world- though we moved a lot. We were living out there in the mortal world just for one of my fathers, Gabriel, to finish college.  (Which, hes been finished college for a while now, so I don't really get why we still stayed out there ..) Anyway, we were moving from the mortal world to Sleepaway Meadows. My other father, Adam, was driving while blasting music from multiple different musicals. We weren't speaking too much, until about 5 minutes into the music playing, father Gabriel (Yeah, I call my fathers father Adam and father Gabriel, just so I don't get them confused.) , finally spoke up. "Honey, do you mind turning that down a little bit ...?" He didn't say anything, he just took one hand off the stirring wheel to turn the volume down a notch.

We were still many miles away from Sleepaway Meadows, since it was located really deep in the "forests" of New Jersey. New Jersey is, obviously, where Sleepaway Meadows is located, I actually lived in New Jersey when I was about 3-5 years old, until we moved to other states and cities. As you can imagine, I love New Jersey. As soon as I heard that we were moving to Sleepaway Meadows, I was a little upset because I didn't wanna move again. But, when I found out it was in New Jersey, I was suddenly thrilled.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear father Gabriel saying my name, trying to get my attention. I only snapped out of my thoughts when he threw a penny at me. I chuckled. "Ethel," He began. "I can tell there's a lot on your mind, and I get it, I mean, we are moving out of the mortal world to almost an imaginary land." he giggled. "But, I am curious, are you scared ..?" He asked. I thought for a minute, my gaze shifting upward. "Well ..... no. I mean, I don't think so ..? We've moved so many times before, so what's one more?" I could see his eyebrows scrunch up in the rear-view mirror. "You do have a point." He said. Father Adam finally spoke up. "I just want you to know, mortal schools are very different to the schools in Sleepaway Meadows." He said. "So, if you've got a problem with any of the students, or even the teachers, you tell us. Okay?" He finished. I nodded.

We were driving for a little while longer. The sky got darker, and as the sun went down, the moon was slowly rising up. I started yawning a lot, I had no idea why I was so tired. I looked out the window, that was now rolled up, as it started to get colder. We were still passing by a large amount of trees. I yawned again. I managed to get my mind off of my tired state, and started to think about the new school I was going to. I remembered it being called 'Sleepaway Meadows' Dark Arts', or something along those lines. I started to wonder what it was like there, and if it was better than any of the mortal schools I've attended in the past. I decided that the students there would be exactly like the ones in the mortal world. Y'know, joking around with each other, starting new friendships, and maybe even relationships ....

That's when something popped into my head, relationships! Sure, I've had a few girlfriends in the mortal world, but since we moved so often, my relationships never really lasted very long. I started to get excited about any new relationships I might experience in Sleepaway Meadows, and how long they would last for. Would I meet a girl so special that our relationship would last for years? Or better yet, would I ever find my soulmate ...? As I was thinking about all of this, I started yawning more and more, until I finally fell asleep.

A few hours later, I was woken up by a sudden breeze and an arm nudging me. I opened my eyes and saw father Gabriel trying to wake me up. He looked at me, tiredly. "We're ... here ...." He said, trying to sound cheerful, though he was clearly exhausted. Though I was also tired, I unbuckled my seat belt and jumped out of the car. "Wait!" He said suddenly. I jumped a little, not expecting that. He held up my backpack and smiled weakly. "You forgot this ..."

I took it from him "Thanks ..." I said, quietly. I walked over to the trunk, to see father Adam unloading our stuff. We didn't bring too much, only our suitcases and a few boxes. I  put my backpack on my back, took my suitcase, and picked up one of the more lighter boxes. I stared at both of my dads. "Well?" father Gabriel asked. "Well what?" I responded. "What do you think?" I tilted my head slightly, confused. "About ..?" He smiled. "Look behind you." I slowly spun around, to see ....

Our new home.

It was a dark red colored, medium-sized house. It had a lot of trees surrounding it,  with a garden doorway right next to it, which I assumed lead to the backyard. It even had a porch! squealed a little bit. "So, what do ya think?" Father Gabriel asked again. "It's ..... damn ...." was all I could say. "Good description." he laughed. Father Adam walked right next to me, then he pointed to the right. "See that side?" He asked. "A few miles to the right, is where the rest of our family lives." He finished. I squealed a little bit more. A lot of other people probably wouldn't mind the idea of living close to their family, but I'm weird. I love my family more than anything else, I love seeing all of my cousins, Sabrina, Eve, Lilith, Damien, and Veronica. Though, I especially loved when my aunt, Clementine, who lived with them, came to visit me. I had some sort of strong bond with her, and I honestly don't know why.

Then, father Adam pointed to the left side of  the home. "That side, is where the neighbors live. They're about a few blocks away, I believe." Then father Gabriel spoke up. "Who knows, you might meet someone special there ..!" He teased. "I ...." I began. "Am too tired for this, stop exciting me." I joked. Father Gabriel chuckled a little. "I agree, honey, please lead us inside." He said to father Adam. Father Adam nodded, passing father Gabriel his suitcase and a few small boxes, and closed the trunk and locked the car. He stepped in front of us and starting walking to the house, our should I say, our house ..? When we finally got up to the door, after making our way up the 4 stairs to the porch, father Adam slowly bent down to the doormat, lifted it, and picked up keys that were under it. He stood back up and used the keys to open the door. He held it open for the two of us. We all made our way into the home. Someone flicked the light switch on, but I was too tired to get a good look of the inside. "Where's my room?" I asked, tiredly. Father Adam pointed to the little hallway we were facing. "Walk to the end of the hallway, and you'll find it.." I did as I was told. I found a door, and turned the nob. Surely enough, there was a small bed in there. I turned to both of them. "Alright ...." I said, tiredly. "Night ..." 'Goodnight." They both said, father Gabriel saying it more energetically than father Adam.

I shut the door and took my backpack off. I put it down, along with the light-weight box I was carrying and my suitcase. I immediately collapsed on the bed, not bothering to change into my pajamas. I quickly fell asleep, smiling. A new home, that just so happened, to be a few miles away from my favorite people in the world, would seem like too ask for. Despite that, here I was, living in an amazing home, near my family.

Damn, this move was gonna be good.
