(The twins are 11 months)
Emily's pov
"Oh my gosh, Em, come quick!"
"What is it? Are the girls okay?" I head straight into the living room to see Grace standing up, leaning against the couch.
"Everything's perfect. Watch this, babe. Grace, wiggle wiggle." I smile widely, watching my wife demonstrate Grace's task- wiggling her butt.
Our first born suddenly starts giggling at her mama, before twerking in front of the couch.
I clap my hand against my thigh, creating a mini beat for her as I record her with my phone in my free hand.
Surprising the both of us, Lily pulls herself to standing and copies the butt wiggle, leaning into her twin sister.
Lily has always been a little behind her 'older' sister. Not to a concerning degree though, they are both very clever.
"Right, we need to take mommy to her swim meet and then get you girls to Grandma's." My wife scoops Lily up as I get Grace, who still happens to be wiggling!
"You want me to drive us there Ali?" I offer, knowing she'll be driving everywhere if not.
"Of course not. You relax. You were up most the night."
Lily has been teething real bad. We proceeded to watch The Little Mermaid at 3:30 this morning.
"Mmmmthank you." I mumble into our kiss.
............
Alison's pov
"Bye babe." I lean over to kiss my brunette, just before she turns to the girls.
"Say bye to mommy." I say, looking into the back seats at them.
In the baby-safety mirror, we see both girls wave a chubby little hand.
"Baaaa." Grace coos before clapping her hands together.
"Bye babies, I love you." Moving back to face Em, I give her one last kiss.
"Bye Ali, I love you."
"Have a good day Em, I love you too."
.......
After dropping Emily off, I took the girls to my mother-in-law's home just around the corner from our own. She looks after them Monday-Wednesdays.
"Thanks Pam, me and Em will be back by 4."
"Bye Ali, go careful."
................
"You're really trying peas again?" I ask my wife with a soft laugh.
"Ali, they need to eat healthy." I nod in agreement, sitting beside her as she feeds them on the floor. For 'clean' meals we often do this, it encourages the girls to sit up by themselves.
"They do, they do. I just thought we were giving up with the peas."
"They're good."
"Em, you hate peas." I remind her with a smirk, setting Grace's plate in front of her.
"Shhhh, if they hear you they'll copy to be like mommy." She lifts a finger to her mouth.
I turn back from Emily to see Grace toddling back from the couch.
"Babe, did you see that?" I squeal excitedly.
"What?"
"Grace, she just took her first steps!"
"Oh my gosh, Grace, show mommy!" My heart melts at the sparkle in my Emily's eyes.
Looking down at Grace's plate, I realise where she went when taking her first steps.
"Grace, where are your peas? Go get 'em Grace." I coo, finding the whole situation brilliant. She's beating her mommy at her own game.
"Babe? What are you doing?" My wife turns to me.
"Just watch." I laugh as Grace pulls herself up to standing. Within no time, our 11month old is toddling across the living room and stuffing her chubby hands down the side of the couch.
"Oh my- Grace DiLaurentis-Fields." Emily tries not to laugh as we watch the toddler pull a handful of peas out of the couch.
"She won Em. No more peas for Grace." I smirk, receiving a light tap on the wrist from the tall brunette.
Grace drops them on the laminate floor and squashed them with her hands.
"Okay, scrap that idea." She sighs, admitting defeat.
