My whole class was gathered in the commons area, talking and laughing while I set up a projector so we could watch the movie. Yuuto came up behind me while I was plugging it and said, "So that Shinso guy is coming, huh?"
"Yeah, he is. How did you even know?" I asked. He shrugged and looked at his shoes.
"I just figured. Why else would you plan this?"
"Uh, because I wanted to spend time with my class. I didn't even invite him until last night," I explained. Yuuto huffed and walked off to Akena Ito. Why can't he even decide how he feels towards me? One second he wants to be friends and the next he hates me.
I heard a knock at the door but before I could answer it, Eiko Sato opened the door. "Oooh, and who are you?" She squealed upon seeing Shinso. She looked toward Fumika and whispered, "This guy is really cute!"
Fumika wildly waved her hands, trying to get her to stop talking. "Oh, this? This is that guy?" Eiko exclaimed. Shinso looked at me over her head, looking flustered and exasperated. Eiko walked over to me, letting Shinso in, and said, "Your boyfriend is cute, Saito." I blushed and tucked hair behind my ear. Boyfriend, eh?
"He's not my boyf - Yeah, he is pretty cute."
"Haruyo, how long is this going to last?" He asked. He rubbed the back of his neck with his hand and glanced around the room.
"It won't be long, I promise. Just ignore her. Come on, we're about to start," I ushered him to a couch and sat down next to him. People started to sit down and find their seats. Asahi stood in front of everyone and announced the movie we would be watching, throwing in a couple jokes to make everyone laugh. He smiled and sat down on the other side of me. He noticed Shinso nervously staring straight ahead, so he stuck out his hand in front of me.
"I'm Asahi Goda, I'm part of the hero course here. And you?" He asked.
Shinso reluctantly shook his hand. "Hitoshi Shinso. General Studies," he said. Asahi looked at me as if to say 'really?'
"Shinso is training to become a hero though, right Hitoshi?" I prompted. He nodded and blushed slightly, releasing his hand.
"Good for you man. Hey what's your quirk anyway?" He asked. Riku Adachi 'shhed' us because the movie was starting.
"Brainwashing," he whispered. Asahi's eyes widened in amazement.
"Woah, that's pretty sweet. You would make a sick villain."
"Heh. Yeah, I guess," he sighed. I gave Asahi a dirty look and he nervously backed down.
"But you would be a really cool hero too, I bet," he said. Shinso made a small smile then turned away so he could end the conversation.
"See, you're making friends," I whispered.
"Haha, yeah I can feel myself being pulled into the sweet bosom of friendship," he said dryly. I rolled my eyes and leaned my head on his shoulder. He sighed and wrapped his arm around mine. He noticed several people staring at us, and bowed his head so they wouldn't see him.
"They're staring at us, Haruyo," he seethed between his teeth. I looked around a noticed the same thing he just did.
"Will you be okay?" I asked quietly. He nodded and swallowed thickly, trying to ignore my classmates. He sunk down further into the sofa, his face sinking down so no one could see it. I felt a twinge of guilt as I looked at his nervous face. I didn't want to make him feel this way, I just wanted him to make friends. "Do you wanna get out of here?" I asked.
"No, it'll be okay," he said, squeezing my hand. I nodded and turned my attention back to the movie. His fingers interlaced with mine and he rubbed my skin with his thumb and closed his eyes, trying to ignore the whispering around him. He's clearly miserable, why is he even doing this?
I enjoyed the movie, but the whole time he just looked nervous. He tried to enjoy himself but he was held back by a feeling of inferiority. Once it was over and people said goodnight and went to bed, he had fallen asleep.
"Hey, you alright?" I shook his shoulder gently and woke him up.
"What?" He noticed where he was. "Oh. Yeah I'm okay. Where did everyone go?"
"Well it's like 11 so everyone went to sleep. I let you sleep here for a while cause you looked really peaceful," I said. He looked at me and smiled. He reached to my face and pulled me down so I could kiss him. His mouth moved in motion with mine, his heart beating wildly. I realized something. Something important. This guy hated being around people, but I didn't even notice at first. He was so comfortable around me that he was a completely different person around people. He sacrificed his comfort to make me happy. I pulled back and wrapped my arms around his neck. He kissed my cheek softly, trying to be quiet. I think that it's safe to ask him...
"Do you love me, Shinso?" I asked. His face went red and he stared at my eyes with passion.
"I do, Haruyo."
"I love you too." He kissed me again, but more intensely this time. "Come on," I whispered, standing. He followed me through the dark hallways, throwing nervous glances over his shoulder.
"Saito, you're gonna get caught. It's not smart," he whispered.
"I don't care about that right now, Shinso. I want you," I said, turning around to kiss him. He smirked as I turned back around and tiptoed up the stairs. I found my room in the dark, and walked in. He followed closely behind, shutting the door softly behind him. He pinned me against the wall and passionately kissed me. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me in close.
"Let's have some fun," he whispered in my ear.
