"He broke up with me," I say miserably into the phone. "He what? I swear, Bren I'll kick his ass, " Spencer sputtered angrily back at me. "No, no. It's ok. I mean it was inevitable, right?" I reminisce sadly. "Even if you were doomed by some- some higher power type thing, that doesn't give him any right to do this to you. I mean, you gave him your all." Spencer makes an attempt to reassure me. I can't say it works, but I accept it anyway. "It'll be alright." I say, mostly to myself. "I'm gonna go," I say finally. "Ok, dude. You know I love you, man. And the offer of kicking the shit out of him is still on the table, by the way. Alright, I'll swing by and check on you tomorrow." Spencer says. "Love you too, dude. See you tomorrow."

I hang up after that. The only thing circling my mind is him. More specifically, that there isn't a single thing I wouldn't give right now to have him back. My life savings? Bye-bye. My favorite pair of socks? I could do with out, in exchange for even a couple of days more with him.
