Everybody was quick about getting dressed, but it still took them 6 minutes. Aizawa groaned, glaring at all of them. "We'll have to get better at that too, heroes need to be able to get dressed quickly." He stated bluntly, gaining nods of understanding. "We'll be doing a few different tests, including a speed one, stamina one and distance one. You will be ranked afterwards." This was met with a few exclamations, a particular one putting them in danger. "This is gonna be so much fun!" Mina said, smiling brightly. Aizawa's entire demeanor changed, turning dark and oppressive. "Oh, you think this will be fun? Well how about this, whoever ranks last is expelled." Everyone paled and once again started talking. Shouts of "unfair" and "you can't do this" was the only response.

Izuku scoffed, narrowing his eyes, and loudly clearing his throat. "Life's unfair and Aizawa-sensei can do whatever he wants." He stated honestly, watching Aizawa nod in agreement. "Kowai's right, life is never fair. People die and get hurt everyday, it is a heroes' job to try and lessen that. The sooner you learn that, the better." His speech was met with wide eyes and awed stares. "Now, lets get started." Then turning around, he grabbed a soft ball and tossed it to Izuku. "How far did you throw in middle school?" He paused, "Around 70 meters." "Alright, throw the softball from there, this time you can use your quirk." He pointed at a circle in the sand.

Izuku nodded, grabbing the softball and stepping forward. He tossed it up in the air a few times, getting a feel for it. Reeling his arm back, Izuku threw his whole body into the throw. Pushing ice out of the palm of his hand and launching the ball forward faster than a car. It flew through the air, quickly becoming a distant twinkle. Stepping back Kowai and everyone else looked to Aizawa for his score. He turned the distance measurer around, showing a score of 800 meters.

"Good job, Kowai. Uraraka your up next." The rest of the throws went quickly, Uraraka the only one to break Izuku's score. The next was the 50-meter dash. Iida being the fastest with a time of 2.86 seconds and Izuku getting fifth with 5.64 seconds. Shoji blew the grip strength test away by lifting 600 kilos, doing better than everyone else. The side-to-side jump was Izuku's easiest score, he was able to do 80 in the minute he had. More than most and less than a few.  By the end of the test he had a pretty good place.

In first place was Todoroki, Bakugou close behind him. Third was taken by Yaoyorozu, Shoji and Tokoyami following. Then there was Izuku, he got in sixth place, Shinsou only a few points below him. Eighth place went to Uraraka, Iida, Mina, Kaminari, Sero, and Ojiro behind.  Jirou got fourteenth place, Kirishima and Asui close. Seventeenth belonged to Sato, eighteenth to Koda, nineteenth to Hagakure and twentieth to Aoyama.

Aoyama was on the ground, tears pouring down his face. "Oui vi, the beginning is the end for me." He declared dramatically, not looking at anybody. Shinsou and Izuku snickered, everybody else giving him pitying glances. They glanced at each other, confused at the pity. "That was a ruse, nobody is getting expelled."

Almost everyone looked surprise, excluding Todoroki, Yaoyorozu, and Bakugou. Todoroki with his usual expression, Yaoyorozu with a 'duh' face, and Bakugou looking uncaring. "Eh, really?" "You tricked us!" More exclamations like that followed, the general tone was talking of more unfairness. "It was obvious." Yaoyorozu declared a bit haughtily.

Shinsou and Izuku shared another confused look. "He was serious, though." Izuku's statement was met with surprised stares. "What do you mean, Kowai?" Izuku blinked, "Well, I mean he had no signs of lying. People always have some kind of tick when lying, even just an eyebrow twitch. He didn't have any of that." "How would you be able to tell that though?" Shinsou and Izuku shared another look. "You guys can't tell when someone is lying?" He asked in confusion, brow furrowing at the incredulous looks he got.

Before anyone could ask anymore questions, Aizawa started speaking again. "Alright, we're done, go get changed and head back to the classroom." They all headed back to the locker room, Izuku still getting weird stares.

***

Kirishima found himself staring at the back of the weird jade eyed boy. He couldn't understand how the boy knew when people lied. Said boy turned to him, arching an eyebrow. Kirishima laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. "Sorry for staring, I was just wondering how you can tell when someone lies." He said, a curious lilt to his voice. The other boys turned to them, curiosity obvious on their faces.

"Oh, um, I can just tell?" He said in a confused voice, "Why can't you guys?" Everyone stared at him again, giving him strange looks. "I can tell." Shinsou muttered next to him, also looking confused. "Wait," Kowai looked like something came to him, "how were your guys' childhoods?" Everyone answered with some kind of good or well except Shinsou that is. "It sucked," was his honest response. Kowai laughed, "That's why! I guess since we had bad childhoods we can tell easier!" He exclaimed, grinning at them. Then paused at the stares he got, surprise and pity all over their faces. Shinsou and Kowai shared another look, a silent conversation happening between them.

They both finished getting dressed much more quickly, being the firsts to leave the locker room. An awkward silence was left behind them, broken by Kaminari, "That was awkward." Murmurs and nods followed, all of them agreeing.

***

Shinsou and Izuku were the first to get to the classroom, sharing another look. They were surprisingly connected for the amount of time they knew each other. "Well, that was awkward." Izuku nodded in agreement, leaning his head back to rest on Shinsou's desk.

Soon everyone else was back in the classroom, the boys giving Shinsou and Izuku weird looks. Aizawa raised up from under his neck like some kind of zombie. "Alright, you have 8 minutes until your next class. Do whatever you want, but be quiet." With that last sentence, he dove back under.

Everyone started to talk, making quick friends. Bakugou, Kaminari, Kirishima, Sero, and Mina were in a group. Bakugou looking like he was forced to be. Uraraka, Iida, Asui, Hagakure, and Yaoyorozu were another, talking quietly. Shoji, Koda, Ojiro, and Tokoyami weren't talking, but instead signing. Todoroki, Jirou, Shinsou, and Izuku weren't talking to each other. They were all doing their own thing, although Shinsou and Izuku would laugh at something from time to time.

The bell rang, signaling the end of this class and the beginning of the next one. Somehow, the rest of the day went by quickly. Shinsou and Izuku having most of their classes together. There was math with Ectoplasm, history with Midnight, English with Present Mic, and Literature with Cementoss. Lunch was made by Lunch Rush and was the best food either had ever eaten.

Now they were walking to their Hero Training class, they had no idea who would be their teacher. They were the first ones back to homeroom, sitting in the same seats and talking to each other. Soon the room was full and they were waiting for their teacher. They all theorized who it would be, laughing and joking about it. Until Izuku decided to speak, "What about All Might?" That got him some stares, jeez that seemed to be happening a lot. He needed to stop opening his mouth.

As Yaoyorozu was about to say something, Aizawa came in. Well, more like stormed in and he looked extremely pissed. "Alright, your teacher for this class can't make it so I'll be the one to teach it. Stupid, fucking, " he started to mutter to himself glaring at the air. He quickly shook himself from his rage and looked back to them. Pressing a button, rows of briefcases came from the wall. "These are your hero costumes, put them on and go to training ground A. I'll explain what we're doing there." They all broke into excited chatter, standing up and grabbing them. Aizawa left as he came, extremely angry.

"What do you think we'll be doing?" Shinsou asked, walking next to Izuku and glancing at him. He shrugged, "I have no idea, but I'm still wondering who our teacher was supposed to be." "Yeah, me too. I guess we'll learn that later." Shinsou said, tilting his head curiously. They fell into a silence, walking to the locker room. Izuku found himself wondering what they would do again, although for some reason he had a bad feeling.
