"Hey you." Turning your face away from Konan's door after you closed it, you were met with the sight of the Akatsuki member, Hidan. His magenta eyes watched you carefully, he seemed very wary of you.
Remaining still, you allowed him to approach and try to assert his dominance. You were much older than him even though you looked to be the same age, this is why you thought he was coming to speak to you, to seek you out a potential partner. But you'd wanted no part in the matter, you already had someone that you loved.
"Yes?" you responded in a quiet, curious tone. He kept walking, stopping only when he was standing uncomfortably close to you.
"It was (Y/n), right?" he asked, placing his hand up against the door of Konan's room, trapping you there. Although it looked it, you weren't trapped at all, you were confident in your skills and could easily overpower this man if you needed to.
"Ah yes, (Y/n)," you repeated, completely ignoring the position the two of you were in. He chuckled, his free hand reaching up to brush a strand of your hair out of your face.
"It's a cute name," he flirted, smirking. You stared blankly at him.
"Oh thank you, my mother chose it." He frowned, not liking that you had brought your mother into his flirting attempt. Clearing his throat, he tried to change the subject.
"So what are you and Konan? Old friends or something?" he asked, not really seeming to care about the answer.
"Konan is my younger sister," you informed him. His eyes widened in shock, not expecting this at all.
"Huh? But she's older than you?" Lifting your hand to your mouth, you let out a small amount of laughter.
"I may look younger but Konan is three years younger than I am," you told him, watching as he scratched his head, not knowing what to do with the information.
"And who's Pein then? Your brother?" You smiled lightly at the ground, heat radiating from your cheeks at the thought of him.
"No, Pein is my lover." You hadn't seen the young man so shocked than when you told him that, his eyes wide in disbelief.
"That pierced freak? Why the hell are going out with that asshole?!" he asked loudly, obviously outraged by this new information. Hating what he had said about him, you turned your face away from the silver-haired man and frowned.
"It's very shallow of you to judge someones character solely on their appearance, is that why you approached me?" you accused, still refusing to look at him. He clicked his tongue and took a step back, glaring at you as he began walking away.
"Stuck up bitch," he muttered, straightening his Akatsuki cloak as he walked away and to what you could only assume was his room. Sighing, you fixed the hair that he touched, hating that he wanted to be close with you. It disgusted you, any thought of being with anyone that wasn't your beloved Nagato.
Before being approached by Hidan, you had woken up from falling asleep in Konan's room. She was still there, now tucked into her bed rather than using you as a pillow. Her face was still stained from tears for her love but she looked so peaceful in her sleep, almost happy.
It was then that another thought entered your mind, that thought being of the blue-haired woman's death.
Many years ago
You awoke to the sound of whispering. Lately you had gotten used to the orange-haired boy sneaking into your apartment and waking you up. It became normal, something that happened every morning.
But this morning was different, there were two voices instead of one. One was a softer, more feminine you could say, it was obvious that it belonged to a girl. Opening one of your eyes, you noticed Yahiko sitting on your bed with a girl his age. She was pretty, having short blue hair and bright amber eyes. She noticed you were awake and giggled, looking over at Yahiko who was looking out the window at a bird flying past.
You quickly sat up and started to tickle the unknowing boy, unable to hold back a smile as he burst out laughing, flailing his arms and legs in an attempt to get you to stop. The girl laughed at this also, almost falling off the bed. But before she could, you caught her and pulled her back up.
"Are you okay?" you asked her, receiving and soft smile and nod from her.
"Yes, thank you." Glancing over at the orange-haired boy, you raised an eyebrow.
"Who's your friend?" you asked, gesturing to the blunette who remained in your arms after you had caught her.
"Oh, that's just Konan," he chuckled, his hand moving to the back of his neck since he knew he was in trouble.
"Well, I told Konan about you and she said she wanted to meet you so... I brought her here." Knowing that he had no ill intent, you sighed and ruffled his hair.
"Whatever, just let me know if you're bringing people I don't know over, okay?" He nodded, smiling his bright idiotic smile.
"Of course, I promise I won't do it again." You eyed him suspiciously, not sure if he would actually uphold his end of the deal. He wasn't the lying type but he was mischief and always getting himself into trouble. Sighing, you gave up on the conversation and got out of bed, grabbing your clothing and heading to the bathroom to change.
"Hey, (Y/n)?" Yahiko called through the door. You hummed in response, fixing your hair and changing out of your pajamas.
"Do you think you can teach me some ninja stuff? Maybe like some taijutsu or ninjutsu?" he asked, worried about being rejected again. Rolling your eyes, you opened the door and crouched down to his level. Placing a hand on top of his head, you sent him a smile.
"Remember, I told you that I won't teach you anything like that. You don't need to know any of that," you tried to assure him. But he was stubborn, glaring down at the floor.
"But what if I'm in trouble and I need to fight?" he argues.
"Then I will protect you."
"But what if you aren't there?"
"I will always be there, Yahiko." He huffed, pouting as he walked towards the door.
"Come on, mom says she wants you to have breakfast with us," he grumbles before storming off. You sighed, stretching before heading to the door yourself. But then you remembered something important, someone else was here. You turned and noticed that Konan was still sitting on your bed, patiently waiting.
"Konan," you called. After hearing you, she rushed over to your side. Your eyes were on her, meeting her own amber orbs, her hand making contact with your own as she held onto it... completing the circuit once again.
There was another vision, this one taking place in above water. It was raining, the drizzle running down both Konan and the man that she faced. He was wearing a cracked mask, one of his red eyes exposed. The eye was the only thing you could make out about him, everything else was hidden as if censored. An older version of Konan stood on something protruding out of the water, the same going for the red-eyed man.
Without warning, the water split below his feet and the man fell into an abyss of white. You watched as he fell before everything around him exploded. Konan stood there, somewhat injured, thinking that she had beaten him. You almost collapsed when you watched as a pipe was stabbed through her abdomen.
You stumbled, the young Konan giving you a concerned look.
"Are you okay, sister?" she asked, using the same nickname Yahiko used for you. Biting back the pain of the vision, you nodded and raised your head.
"Perfectly fine, there is nothing to worry about."
I feel so bad that she has to watch the deaths of all of these people, especially those she is close to. Imagine knowing how your loved ones are going to die, sounds heartbreaking, I imagine that you'd go crazy. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed, thank you for reading!
