They were swimming down now. Keith was amazed at the sight of the ocean underwater. The merpeople had given him and his friends air bubbles so they could breathe. Lance picked up his treasure bag and slung it around his shoulder. The ocean was mostly blue but lance liked it that way. For the first time, he took in his surroundings in this new place. Blue stretching as far as he could see pale sand and seaweed growing out of the ground. Lance studied the walls of the ravine without getting too close. The surface was jagged and sharp instead of smooth so he didn't want to cut himself. There was some seaweed emerging from the gray rock and some sea creatures rested on the flat bits that came out of the rock. The Cuban looked up at Keith with his friends conscious and in tow. Lance wanted to talk to them but he'd have to get into their head bubble and that would be awkward. Keith's friends were very confused but they seemed like this was their dream. Lance was glad to have saved their lives, but, he wanted to do one more thing. Lance remembered seeing a small cave big enough for him that had a little glow. He ignored it because he cared about the ship's treasure more and nobody would really notice it. Lance quickly swam ahead and found the cave again. Everyone was quite a ways behind him so he squeezed into the small opening. He was greeted with a beautifully decorated room which held many shiny treasures. Lance decided this would be his personal treasure room. The cave looked as it hadn't been visited in hundreds of years. The cave had the softest sand he'd ever felt with a little carpet in the middle. The walls had decorations like seashells and small crystals on them and so did the slightly rotted cabinets. The merman had never seen anything like this cave. All around there was treasure and there were many rooms. Lance rummaged around until he found five things and a large boulder that would make the cave look like it was just a part of the ravine. Then he found something: it was a beautiful gold chain necklace with a seashell charm. He stared for a moment and smiled as he swam up back to his family.
