Danny’s POV
We saw medics help Becky and Hayley towards a waiting ambulance. I stood but couldn’t see Lauren, Liv or Tom. They were still inside. Both girls had ash and soot all over them. Becky was unconscious while Hayley sat next to her. I poked Harry who jumped to his feet.
“Let me see my sister right now!” He yelled. We were escorted over to the ambulance. Doug sat next to Becky and held her hand tightly. Harry held Hayley close and rocked her gently. She cried onto his shoulder. I sat with Doug and waited for someone to say something. Moments later another medic came over with Liv. I jumped down and hugged her close. She clung to my arms and cried. I held her out and listened to her.
“Lauren’s gone back in, after Tom!”
I looked back and smiled “It’ll be ok”
Once Hayley and Liv were checked over the doctor’s needed to take them to the hospital.
“I’ll go with them, you two stay! I’ll keep an eye on them” I said climbing in the ambulance and smiling at Doug and Harry. They nodded and stood shoulders together. I took Hayley and Liv’s hand and sat with them all the way to the hospital.
Tom’s POV
I woke up and heard a huge crash. I put my hand out to where I was sure Liv was. I was on my own. I panicked and tried to get up. My legs were held under an armchair. I moved them free and got up. My head swam as I made my way around. I looked around and saw a beam blocking the doorway. I coughed and looked down.
“What you going down there?” I asked Lauren
“What the fuck do you think I am doing?” She replied. I knelt next to her. She was trapped under the beam. I tried to move it but it was way too heavy.
“You’ll be okay” I said and walked further up the beam. I found I could lift it here. I pushed it upwards. “Move!” I yelled
Lauren rolled out the way. I put the beam down and sat next to her. We still couldn’t get out. The black smoke was filling the room rapidly. We were both feeling sick and dizzy. I looked around but there was only one door. I stood and gave Lauren a hand up. I pushed the beam again but just as I let go the floor below it collapsed. We jumped back and looked at the flames filling the space between us and the door. We were dead. No way out. We moved to the far side of the room and looked out the window. The garden outside was raging. If we would die we’re going down fighting. I smashed the window and helped Lauren out. We ran along the porch thing and jumped down. There was a gate and we ran through it. There was a dry graveyard backing onto the house. The fire had caught one end where a shed was. We looked around and saw we were completely surrounded.
Lauren’s POV
I stood with Tom looking at the fire closing in on us. I looked at him, him back at me. This time there was nowhere out, or nowhere left to run (just to be ironic )! The smoke was filling the air around us. We had about 10ft of space around us, before the fire came closer. We sat down together and made ourselves as small as possible. Tom put his arms around me and squeezed my shoulder. All we could hear was the sound or fire and screaming. I shock in fear and took hold of the necklace Doug had bought me 3 weeks ago. I held it tight and prayed he’d come for us. Stupid but I just hoped. Nothing could save us. The last thing I knew was the cold, wet tear splash on my forehead. We cried together………………………………………….
