Halloween Night. Amanda had a headache. A bad one, too. Brandon and Amanda were supposed to go to Moriah's costume party. But they wanted to go together. If one couldn't go, then the other didn't either. And now, Amanda had a pounding headache.
"Amanda, are you okay?" Brandon asked. Amanda shook her head. "Okay. I guess we're not going to the party, huh?"
Amanda shot Brandon a worried look with his blue eyes. Amanda loved his blue eyes.
"What?" Brandon asked.
"I want you to go. I want you to have fun."
"Babe, you know I can't have fun without you."
"Bullshit! You always hang out with Michael! You can have fun without me anywhere you go!" She was right. Brandon and his friend from high school, Michael, hang out a heck of a lot more than they used to.
"Are you sure you're okay with this?" Brandon asked Amanda. She grabbed his hand. "I'm sure."
Brandon smiled and grabbed his costume. Brandon was wearing a black shirt and black pants with a black cape and a white mask as the Phantom of the Opera. Once he changed, he gave Amanda a kiss and then left. Amanda and Brandon had only been dating for a couple of months, but they loved each other. Everyone said that they were the perfect couple, and Brandon thought so, too. But Amanda was untrusting. She believed that anyone could have the tendencies to lie and cheat. What made Brandon so special?
Amanda's head pounded harder and harder. Amanda laid down and closed her eyes. When she woke up, it had been an hour since Brandon left. She stretched and smiled. No more headache. She was suddenly in a very good mood. She walked over to her closet and pulled out her vampiress costume. Brandon and Amanda agreed that they wouldn't show each other their costumes until Halloween, so Amanda thought that it would be fun to show up at Moriah's party and pay Brandon a surprise visit. But a part of Amanda just wanted to see what Brandon was like without her. She slipped into her costume and put on a masquerade mask. She did her hair and walked outside to her car.
It was a chilly night. The moon was full and it was slightly foggy and there was a cool breeze. It was somewhat creepy. But Amanda wasn't afraid of anything. At least, that's what she told herself.
When she arrived at Moriah's house, she was legitimately surprised that the cops weren't there due to noise complaints. Amanda stepped into the one-floor house and was immediately overwhelmed by the heat. The music was booming, there was just about half of the country there, and everyone was sweaty from dancing. Amanda pushed through the slutty bunnies, the Star Trek geeks, and the couple-costumed people to get to the kitchen.
As usual, Moriah, wearing a white princess gown, was in the kitchen, sorting out hors d'oeuvres as if anyone actually wanting pigs in a blanket. Amanda snuck up on Moriah, and hissed into her ear. Moriah screamed and jumped, but no one noticed except for herself and Amanda.
"Scare, much?" Amanda asked, laughing at her success.
"VERY MUCH!" Moriah shouted. But then she smiled, and gave Amanda a hug. "I'm so happy you could make it. Word is that you had a really bad headache. Amanda nodded.
"Yeah, that's true. But it went away after a nice nap, so I decided to join the party."
"Well, I'm glad you came! You go out there and have fun, I have hosting to do." Moriah smiled, grabbed her tray of pigs in a blankets, and walked off, offering it to people like a waitress.
Amanda made her way through the main hallway and then into the living room. There were more people in the living room than in any other part of the house. Amanda wiped a bead of sweat off of her forehead, and pushed her way through. There she saw him. Black shirt and black pants with a black cape and a white mask. But Amanda wasn't happy. The "Phantom" was dancing with one of the slut bunnies.
The only thing that was stopping her from going up to him and giving him the hard slap that he deserved was that he wouldn't be able to tell that she was Amanda. He didn't know what her costume was. This was the moment of truth. Now she could really see what he was like when Amanda isn't around. She slowly walked over to him, pushed the slut bunny away, and started slowly dancing with him.
"Hey there, baby." He said to her. He wrapped his arms around her waist and swayed with her. She turned around so that her back was against him, and slowly guided his hands up her body.
"I like you, girl. You make me feel wild." Even though it was extremely loud in the living room, his voice sounded lower than usual, but Amanda guessed it was so that no one knew who he really was.
Amanda faced him again and whispered, " You're so smooth." She wanted to see exactly how far he would go.
"Let's get out of her baby, I'm ready." He said to her. She took his hand and led him out of the living room. The two went out to Moriah's backyard. Moriah lived along the edge of the woods. They went a little distance into the woods so it was just dark enough. Amanda unzipped the back of her dress, and teased her "Phantom." He slowly pulled it off of her, leaving her in just her underwear.
He grabbed her and brought her to the ground. He got close to her and breathed heavily. "Alright, baby! You're about to experience a whole new world." The moon gleamed through the trees. Amanda smiled, watching him intently. She got him. She had first-hand evidence that he wasn't loyal to her.
He reached into his cape as if he was going to pull something out from them. A condom? The moon shined brightly on her "Phantom." She stared into his beautiful, green eyes. GREEN EYES? BRANDON HAS BLUE EYES!
The "Phantom" pulled a knife from out of his cape, and quickly pulled it down to stab her. She pushed him away and he missed and cut her arm instead. She let out a chilling scream and raced away from the "Phantom." She tripped over a fallen branch and fell on her stomach. The "Phantom" grabbed her legs and dragged her. She clawed at the ground, screaming for help. She kicked at him and he let go. She got back up and raced back to Moriah's house, holding her arm. She pushed through the back door and screamed for Moriah. Everyone stopped as she let out a bloodcurdling scream.
Moriah almost had a heart attack when she saw Amanda, half-naked with a long cut along her right arm.
"Oh my God, somebody call the police!" Moriah yelled. Everyone immediately pulled out their cellphones and dialed 911. "What happened?"
"I think Brandon just tried to kill me!" Amanda cried.
"Amanda, Brandon isn't here. He called and said that he was going to hang out with Michael instead because he felt bad that you weren't with him. I think he also mentioned giving his costume to some stranger who asked him for it."
