Chapter 43 - Putting the Price in the Lake.

The yule ball was a magic night for everyone but once it was over, the champions started to look up ways on how to breath underwater for an hour. You and Draco were helping Harry in the library.

"It say's hear you can do a bubble charm." Draco said. Harry took it and read it over. 

"But if I do it wrong, it will let in water." Harry said. You turned the page in your book. 

"Gillyweed?" You whispered. Harry looked at you. 

"Let me see that." Harry said. you handed him the book and he read it. 

"This is perfect, but how can I get some? The task is tomorow." Harry said. Draco snapped his fingers. 

"I know! Ask Snape." Draco said. Harry smiled and stood. 

"You guys are brilliant!" Harry said and ran off smiled and Draco too your hand in his. 

"Come on, lets go for a walk." Draco said. You smiled and nodded, standing up and walked hand in hand with Draco but then saw Moody walk up to you.

"(y/n), come on." Moody said. You nodded and turned to Draco. 

"Meet me in the great hall later tonight." You said. Draco kisses your cheek and you walked off with Moody. 

"Looks like your dating that boy now?" Moody asked. 

"Yeah, he asked me out at the yule ball." You said. Moody nodded and became silent. You saw that you were walking to McGonagall's office. Once in, Moody shut the door. 

"Ah, (y/n), Moody, perfect timing." McGonagall said and stood, walking around her desk. 

"(Y/n), for the next task, you will be swimming down into the lake and using these ropes, you will tie the people to them." McGonagall said. You took the rope but looked confused. 

"People?" You asked. McGonagall nodded. 

"Moody will explain." She said and sat back down. You looked at Moody and he was limping to the door. You walked with him and he held the door open for you. 

"Thank you. So, who are the people?" You asked. Moody looked at you as you saw him heading in the direction of him office. 

"Well, Krum's is Hermione, his date from the Yule ball. Harry's is Ginny, his date and Fleur's is her sister, Gabrielle." Moody said. You nodded and saw that the three people he just named were waiting in his office.     

"Are we in trouble Moody? Snape brought us in here." Hermione asked. Moody shook his head, taking a brink from his flask. 

"No. No one is in trouble. You three are the items that were taking. I will place you under a simple sleeping spell. While you are under the spell, its almost like death as you don't breath but I assure you, you all will be fine." Moody said. The three girls looked at each other, but nodded. Moody then put them all under the spell and using wingardium leviosa, he lifted them all up. 

"Alright (y/n), lets go. They are going in now as the task is tomorrow." Moody said. You followed him down to the lake and into a boat, where it took you to the floating stage. 

"Um, Moody, how am I going to get them down there?" You asked. 

"With the Bubble-head charm. I will put it on you, do not worry. You nodded and he tapped his wand to your head, doing the incantation. You sighed, wishing they told you to wear swiming clothes but you jumped in and when you did, you saw the mermaids again. They waved to you and you waved back. They took the girls and you followed them down to the deep. 

"Why didn't you guys tie them?" You asked as you tied Ginny. One of the mermaids held up a wedded hand. 

"Can't, ropes wouldn't work." It said. You nodded as you finished with Ginny and started with Hermione, tied her leg to the log. Once you finished with Gabrielle, you started to swim to the surface. You popped up from the water and looked around. It wasn't to far from the floating stage and swam over.  Moody helped you back up. 

"Hold on." Moody said and waved his wand. You felt hot hair that dried you. You then stood. 

"Thanks Moody." You said as you got on the boat with him. He nodded. 

"I should be thanking you. Your helping me a lot." He said. You smiled at him. 

"Well, it's fun." You said. He once again nodded and you couldn't wait to see where Harry placed in this task.
