~Ariel~
I sighed as I watched Adrianna exit the school a large grin painted on her face as she skipped past my hiding spot, which was on a roof of a neighbouring building to the school. Each of us had decided to take turns in watching Arianna, as we had discovered that the demons of hell (Nether?) were becoming more frequent with their attacks, which were also getting closer to the town that Arianna lived in.
I sighed once more as I looked down to where Adrianna was skipping along before to find her disappearing into a dark ally way. Oh, that's not good. I jumped down from the roof, hitting the pavement and cracking it at the same time. If my hunches were right, those filthy quisquiliae were already ready to start the turning.
The turning is an ancient tradition introduced to us by the Realm Founders, Aetherius and Netheraus, the first Angel and the first Demon, in which, in a demons case, a demon were to drain the blood of the soon-to-be demon, and replace it with a supplement known as Hell Fire. And not only did that increase the chances of Adrianna choosing the demon world to save, and not just saving all the words, it would be excruciating to the Angels assigned to her, a.k.a, our group.
I ran to the alleyway, watching as a demon was just about to sink his teeth into Adrianna's neck. I can't let this happen, not now, not ever. I felt the coldness, the dangerous and icy anger rising until I felt the cold frost-that usually appeared when I was livid-upon my face.
I stuck my hand out, flicking my fingers out, and sending a giant shard of ice into the demon's chest, watching as the demon instantly evaporated into smoke, the thing that demons turned into when they were dead or grievously injured, and, for now, we'll just say he was the former.
The other demon, a Succubus, looked at me with a deadly glare, her razor sharp claws protruding from her finger tips as she took various swipes at me. I was getting tired of this, and fast. After all, I did have to explain all this to Adrianna, who was currently shaking in her boots, quivering in fear. I grabbed the demon's wrist as She took another swipe at me, concentrating all the ice magic I had in me to my hands, and in a matter of seconds, the demon had been fast-frosted.
"Well, that takes care of that," I dusted myself off, careful of any disgusting demon-transporter ash around me. Filthy stuff it was, made of Angel Wing dust and fire magic. It basically was a dead angel's remains burned to a dust. "Now, for Adrianna-" Where'd she go? I stared at the empty little corner, the one that Adrianna moments occurred resided in while I was taking care of business.
Ugh, Great. I hate search missions.
-----------------------------------------------------
5 hours I've been looking for her, 5 hours, and still no sign of her. I knew I should've brought my locator tool. I sighed, for what seemed the millionth time tonight, honestly ready to turn it in and try again tomorrow, but I reminded myself that Adrianna could be out there, in danger, possibly with Hell Hounds after her.
"One mint double chocolate chip ice cream please!" I looked to my left, to see- Oh you got to be kidding me. I looked to see one of the guardian's in charge of this assignment- One of the only few Shadow Magic angels in the realm- Coraline Evans licking away at an ice cream cone.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked the very vintage angel in front of me. Meet Coraline Evans, an angel assigned to the same mission I was, who was supposed to be in the Nether realm, gathering intell about the enemies plans, but no. Here she is, indulging in Earth's society.
"Well, the group and I noticed that you were gone for some time now, and they sent me to help you do-well, whatever in God's name you were doing." I almost instinctively face-palmed myself. Of course they did.
