Burn To Their Plea

Chapter 7

"What do you mean he is dead? What do you mean you are all that is left?" Monique questions raising her voice.

"Well, I would ask you the same thing considering that fact that we were killed off because of a witch!"Mikah yells. Monique steps back offended.

"We would never! Your father and I made peace between us! I would never risk that!"

"Then why is he dead? Why is my family gone! My brothers! Jessies' sister! The twins' parents! All gone! Why is that?"

"I do not know! We are under a threat as well!"

Mikah stops yelling and walk away. Hailen follows him. Monique storms off. Lily and Shaela came out of hiding and follow Monique. I look at Josette and Mariana. Mariana is busy staring at Caleb who is also staring at Mariana. I look at Kylin who keeps glancing at Josette. Aw.

I turn to the side to look over at Jessie. He is leaning over the river looking at himself. I sigh and walk to my bag. I pull out the teddy bear and squeeze it.

Everyone soon rejoins into a group but divide between witches and wolves. Monique and Mikah decide that everyone needs some sleep. I grab my blanket and lie down. The sun is up but we were all tired. Everyone lays down and sleeps except for Mikah, Hailen, and Monique. They talk quietly about something. I'm too tired to listen in and soon fall asleep.

We have been walking for an hour now. Josette and Mariana are back in the water with their tails. It scared the boys when they did it too. It was funny. They both carry Hailen on their stomachs. She is used to sleeping in the morning so they volunteered to carry her. They have been carrying her for an hour now. The boys are walking normally now with a few trips along the way.

"My back is killing me." Mariana complains.

"It hurts so much."

"She is getting heavier, I swear."

"Can we please wake her up?"

Mariana keeps complaining and gets more and more annoying over time. Mikah stops the twins in the water and picks up Hailen. He starts walking again. We all look at him and at each other smiling and giggling. We continue walking.

"Woah, your tail is so beautiful. I like it." Caleb says to Mariana. She smiles at him.

"Thank you. I can also talk to fish." She gives him a bigger smile.

"Cool. Can you do that Josette?" He asks.

"Well-"

"No, no she can't. That's only me." Mariana cuts in. Josette scoffs and swims ahead of her twin and Caleb. I roll my eyes. Of course Mariana wants attention.

I watch them talk and soon notice that Kylin had moved up to where Josette was. They were taking... and she was smiling. Oooooh. Hailen was still asleep and Mikah was looking at her. Oh my gosh, is everyone flirting? Lily and Shaela were running way ahead and playing around with Monique. We are missing someone. I soon feel someone pick me up. I start freaking out and end up holding tight onto the person's neck. It was Jessie.

"You jerk!" I shouted. Everyone turns around but soon go back to what they were doing.

"Okay,okay, sorry." He sets me down slowly. I brush off my dress and look at him.

"Say something next time and I might let you do it with no problems," I say and continue walking. I hear him run up next to me, "so what did you do in the pack?"

"I am a scout. I go ahead of everyone and let them know if it is safe or not," He says proudly, "What are your powers?" My powers? I think about how to word it.

"It is pretty much everything. I don't have a main power that I know of yet." I say. He looks me over.

"Is that why you were able to control the water the first time then hit me in the face the third time?" I widely stare at him.

"That hit you in the face?" I cover my mouth as he smiles and nods. Oh my gosh. Oops.

We continue talking for a while when Monique decides we are far enough from the village. That's when we all get to show off our powers to the boys.
