Lauren woke up expecting the day to be one of her happier days, but then again, there never really are much of those. She rolled over in hopes that her fiancé would be long gone, so she could have the day to herself, but as she sees her still lying in bed she silently sighs before getting out of bed and making her way towards the bathroom to get ready for her day.

After about twenty minutes of being in the bathroom Lauren could hear her fiancé, Lucy, moving around the room making her sigh once more as she realized her short time alone was now over.

"Baby, are you in there?" Lucy called out from the bedroom making Lauren yell back to her letting her know that she was indeed in the bathroom before coming out and greeting her with a somewhat awkward smile on her face

"Did I wake you?" Lauren asked wondering why her fiancée was up at the time, considering, she's never awake this early unless there's something at the office that needs to be done

"No, you didn't. I figured we could get an early start on the day and go shopping for wedding dresses" Lucy said as she looked at Lauren with a hopeful smile making Lauren bite her lip unsurely while running her hands through her hair

"I thought we were gonna wait" Lauren said making Lucy roll her eyes at Lauren's reluctantness

"We've been waiting for almost a year Lauren. We can't keep putting this off. Don't you wanna marry me?" This definitely wasn't the way Lauren had pictured the start of her morning, especially on a day like today.

Throughout the course of the relationship, the conversation of taking the next step and finally getting married has come up numerous times. It always ended with Lauren managing to get Lucy to push back the date of their wedding but lately, all Lucy could think about was tying the knot. Due to this Lauren was left with an uneasy feeling. Considering, she wasn't even entirely sure if she wanted to marry and spend the rest of her life with Lucy.

"Yes, just not right now. I don't see why we have to rush these things Lucy, I'm content with how things are right now and you should be to"

"Don't you love me?" Of course Lauren loved Lucy, it just isn't as much as Lucy loves Lauren and definitely not enough to get Lauren to spend the rest of her life with Lucy. In all actuality, Lauren has some love for Lucy she just isn't in love with her, and she probably never will be.

"Let's not do this right now Lucy. If you wanna look for dresses then that's what we'll do. I don't wanna fight today"

"Marriage preparation takes two Lauren. I dont wanna half-ass this, so if you're not all the way in then let's not do this today. Congratulations Lauren, once again you got what you wanted" Lucy said as she stormed off into the bathroom leaving Lauren there shocked at the sudden outburst.

Just as Lauren was about to go after her Lauren's phone went off making her shrug before walking over to check her phone; knowing Lucy would get over it just like every other time. When she finally reached her phone the first thing that caught her eye was the date at the top of the screen making her think back to a time when things were somewhat much simpler

"Remind me again why we're going to this game. We're the underdogs of the school. Nobody cares about us so why should we go and cheer the stupid football team on at some stupid homecoming game" Lauren said as she sat in the passenger seat of her best friends car

"It's our senior year. It's our last shot to try and put ourselves out there. Don't you wanna make some more friends and at least make a name for ourselves?"
