Summary: While working Steve encounters the reader.

Warnings: none

An: Requests for this are open, this is my first time writing for Steve though so I hope you enjoy it. This is rather short as I didn't really have an exact idea to work off of, so sorry about that.

Enjoy my loves!

Steve shakes his head in defeat as the girls walk away from the counter, laughing to themselves. He sighs and then the sound of a board sliding across the counter makes him open his eyes.

"And another one bites the dust. You are 0 for 6 Popeye." Robin smirks as she holds a board labeled 'You Rule' and 'You Suck'. She then draws a 6 on the 'You Suck' side and Steve just sighs.

Steve turns around and crosses his arms, "Yeah, yeah I can count." He rolls his eyes before watching Robin laugh lightly and then closes the sliding window and goes back to her break.

He turns back around and watches people walk by the store until someone he had never seen before walks in.

"Ahoy, welcome to Scoops Ahoy, how may I help you." Steve mutters out, tired of the saying already.

"Hi, uh, I'll just have vanilla on a cone please." The girl mummers back to him and he hesitates slightly before nodding and getting her, her cone.

"Coming right up." He winks, causing the girl to blush slightly and laugh. He hands the girl her cone and she takes it, sliding him the money.

"So uh, I've never seen you here before. New?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.

"I am actually. My names y/n." She smiles back at him and shakes his hand, causing Steve to smile back.

-Readers point of view-

You shake the mans hand and feel yourself blushing a little as you lick your ice cream.

"Well I'm Steve Harrington." Steve smiles, a strand of his hair pushing forward slightly as his head shakes from talking.

"Well, that's nice to know Harrington." You laugh a little and he just smiles at you.

"Where are you from?" Steve asks, leaning on the counter as he looks at you.

"(Where you're from)." You smile back to him, "Moved here a few weeks ago and I haven't had time to check this place out yet, glad I have though." You wink at him and it's his turn to blush slightly.

"Well then." Steve shakes his head smiling, writing something down on a napkin before pushing it across the counter to you, "you're gonna have to call me then, right?" He asks raising as eyebrow.

"I suppose I will." You smile as you fold the napkin up and put it in your pocket.

You take another lick of your ice cream as you look and see a person walk in to get in line.

"Well I'll catch you later Harrington." You smile and then wink at Steve, making him laugh softly before he starts his introduction again, rather happily this time.

-Steve's point of view-

After finishing up with the customer, he hears the familiar sound of the sliding window open. He immediately turns around and smirk at Robin.

"Well, would you look at that, you don't totally suck." Robin laughs before putting a tally on the 'You Rule' side. "1 and 6, nice popeye." Robin states bluntly, not caring much as she returns to her brake again.

Steve didn't care much about the rest of the day, or the other customers. In fact all he cares about is getting home and waiting by the phone.

"Hey dingus, stop day dreaming and get to work!" Robin yells from the window and Steve shakes his head as more people walk up to the counter. He happily speaks out his dumb opener and lists their orders down before getting them.

The rest of the day went by in a flash and before he knew it, they were closing the store and he was rushing home to await your call.
