Chapter 3

Ella's POV

I was sitting in class, thinking about Ace. About his chocolate brown eyes. I smiled, remembering him catching me, about our little talk, about his fast change: from rage to peace. I also liked his smile; his lips were pink and looked so soft. He's too good for me anyway and I don't think anyone could like me, not the way I am nor the way I dress, 'but you saw the way he looked at you, didn't you see the spark in his eyes?' my heart said. I'm just me, I can't make a deal out of nothing, I think he looks at all the girls like that. Besides I saw how every girl looked at him, he's out of my league, he's like the handsome boy of a school and I am nothing, I don't even have a shot. I can't compete with any of the girls I saw today. The door banged open, snapping me out of my thoughts.

Ace was the one coming in the room, followed by two guys. One of them looked humble and sweet. The other one was body-built and had tattoos all over his body. He also had piercings on his ears, nose, eyebrows, and lips. He is kind of scary. He didn't smile, unlike the humble one. I didn't realize they already sat down and that the teacher proceeded in class. Ace looked at me and mumbled a hi while smiling, which I returned.

The class was over. I was about to search for Carter when I found her, we went to the cafeteria together.

"So I want you to meet someone," Carter said, "Ella, this is Nicole. Nicole, this is Ella. We met today." "Hi," I said. "hey," she said, "why are you still standing? Sit down" she had wavy hair that had brown roots and then turned into blonde. She had like three tattoos and some piercings. At first, I thought she might be tough, but it turned out she's cool and funny.

We all sat there, talking and knowing each other more. It turns out that Nicole is awesome, reckless, and relaxed while Carter is funny, humble, sweet, and cute.

While talking about series on Netflix and arguing if Friends or Big Bang Theory is better we got interrupted.

"Hello, ladies" hey, I remember that voice. I looked behind me and saw Ace with two other guys, the ones from class. Carter looked at me with her eyebrows raised "hey," I smiled brightly, "Is there any place where we can sit?" He questioned, "as you can see, all seats are taken." Nicole said sarcastically. "Ha Ha Ha," Ace laughed sarcastically, making me chuckle. They all sat down. The boy with tattoos said: "I like her," pointing at Nicole chuckling.

"So I'm Ace, the boy with tattoos is Liam, and the other one is Max." They gave us a nod. I was still afraid of Liam. "Well, this is Ella, Nicole, and I am Carter," Carter pointed out. Liam decided to tease her, "Isn't Carter supposed to be a boy's name." Carter rolled her eyes and chose to ignore him.

"So there is a party Friday next week, which is at eight at Ace's. So how about you come?" Max questioned all of us, waiting for an answer. "sure," "OK. When?" "I'm not sure if I can come," they all looked at me with a questioning look. "I am sorry," "why?" Ace asked, sad that I won't be able to go.

"What was that about?" Carter asked us. I gave her a questioning look. "they never sit at any table except this one right there and if anyone sat on it, boy you don't want to know what happens. They never sit with anyone else it's always been the three of them alone no girls no other boys just them" Nicole stated pointing at a table in the middle of the cafeteria. It was clean and there was nothing written or scratched on it. That is weird. I shrugged my shoulder.

Ace POV

We were at home after we finished the day. We were sitting next to the counter of the kitchen holding our phones. "Hey boys" I heard Sierra. "Hey," I said not looking out of the phone. "hey Sierra," Max said closing his phone. "so how was your day?" Liam looked at her and then me. "it was good" I said. "are you going to say or should we?" Max looked at me smirking. "about what?" I asked "About you know who," Liam said smirking. Sierra sat down in front of us "what?" She asked as if there was nothing more important than that topic "it was nothing" "nothing?" Liam asked in amusement. "it was just a minute nothing much." "so since it was nothing" Liam stopped and thought for a minute. "About what?" Sierra asked Max "a girl" she pinched the bridge of her nose and groaned "again" she was getting up when Liam decided to put his own touch. "wait, Sierra, she's not like the others, see for yourself" Sierra stopped and turned around, crossed her arms in front of her chest. She raised Max an eyebrow and he nodded. Max looked at Liam. "she's nothing?" I nodded knowing that I'm lying. "So you won't mind if I gave one of my friends her number?" I chuckled, "we don't have anyone except for each other." "ok, then you won't be mad if I told you that someone you know and I know quite well, wants to play her?" My blood was boiling, this one was true, it's Troy, he's trying to be one of us by playing girls and being a dick. At first, I didn't give a fuck, but when it comes to my princess there is a big red fat line. "there is nothing huh" Sierra said smirking. "my boy is finally falling for a girl." "tell me everything about her." She said putting her head on her hands. "now" she demanded. "Fine," I said and put my phone on the counter "well we met today morning, we bumped into each other and I held her before she fell. And it was just like slow-motion. Her eyes are ocean blue eyes and she has the most beautiful lips and has freckles all over her face. Her nose is small and she has snow-white teeth and her smile is really adorable and her laugh comes from the heart. And her voice is amazing, it's like it belongs to an angel. Her hair is mid-back and straight with some waves. She's not like any girl I met before, she's amazing and unique" I said and sigh. Fuck where did that all come from. I looked at them and saw them smiling. "what?" "you are in love" I shook my head and got up and went to my room.

There is one thing that I have to search for. That heart beating that happened today all of a sudden. I opened my laptop and went on google. I kept searching for about an hour till all the websites decided that I had heart disease but how could it all happen today.

I went downstairs and brought a can of coke. I sat down thinking, how can I suddenly have heart disease. "What are you thinking about?" I looked me and saw Sierra "Thinking" "About what?" "Nothing" "Come on tell me" "Well I was upstairs and I recalled something that happened today and searched about it and it turned out that I have heart disease," I said sadly "What?" She gasped. "We have to go to the doctor," she said panicking. "Stop, I'm not dying" "What happened today?" She asked me worried "Today morning when I was about to enter school my heart beat faster than usual for a few minutes and when I was in the cafeteria it happened again but this time it was longer," I said sadly "Wait a minute" I looked at her, "What?" "Were you with that girl at these times?" "Yes! and that girl has a name and it is Ella" "That's it, adrenaline goes up and a hormone called norepinephrine makes your heart beat faster and that causes you to fumble your words. Your pounding heart also causes butterflies to release in the stomach I guess you enjoyed that feeling it makes you feel that you're happy. I guess serotonin dropped in you which leaves you hanging there not able to stop thinking about her" "how do you know all that" "I was a teenage girl at a time and I felt all those things, you have nothing, just a normal heart with a lot of emotion for a girl" she got up "What should I do to stop those, what should I take?" "Stop worrying and start showing some of those emotions to the girl," she said "love is real, trust me" she put a hand on my cheek. 'I won't be weak, I won't show emotions, I don't have feelings, there is no love.' Is all I keep saying in my mind, it's my main motto, I won't break it.

Ella POV

Friday the week after

"So what about you and Ace? He couldn't stop staring at you. And he smiled. No one has ever seen him smile before," Nicole asked me, confused. "Nothing is going on between us, but he's charming. Anyway, have you seen the way Liam stared at you? And the way Max stared at you, Carter?" "What noway!" Both of them shouted at me, "Ok, Ok, sorry. Jeezzz," I said, raising my hands in surrender. "So you're going with us to this party. I'm not going to take no for an answer," Carter said pointing at me

"Hey, I said I'll try." I guess I can make it today if Dave is going out to drink all night as always because it's the weekend, but these days he doesn't stay out a lot and I don't want a beating, I can't bear another one, I'm tired and sore. "I'll try, but most probably, I won't come, so go anyways and if I can, I'll come, I promise." "Can you try your best? Because Ace's parties are the best." Nicole said, "how did you know? You didn't even go to any of them. Or to be honest, you or we weren't invited to any of them" Car stated with a raised brow and a hand on her hip "Earth to Carter are you in the 18th century? There is something called social media, like Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook?!" Nicole said in a duh voice, making me laugh.

Ace's POV

"I'm not sure if I can come." She said with a tint of sadness in her eyes. We all looked at her, questioning why she can't come. "I am sorry," she said, looking at me. "why?" I was sad, really sad. "I promise I'll try but don't get ur hopes up" at least there is a slight chance she would come. Then said, breaking the silence, "OK! But pls try our best! Now Ace, Liam and I have to go we've got practice! So bye," 'She broke your second rule 'no sitting at other tables just the one in the middle with no one but Liam and Max'' I shrugged my conscience off and exit the cafeteria and stood by our locker taking our stuff out when we saw the girls making a conversation. In the end, they crushed Ella with a hug and went to their next class. I went to class, hoping El would come to the party. "so what about you and Ella?" Liam asked me. "there's nothing between us? Are you crazy?" "so you won't mind if I said that she's hot and her ass-" I cut him in the middle of his sentence "if you continue this sentence you'll need an ambulance. I warned Max. "so?" Max said. I shook my head and didn't answer.
