I Came Back For You

Chapter Ten

"It feels great to be out of the hospital.. I've been there for four days but it felt like an year. Am so happy that am home now" I was at Eva's house and we were having some snacks.

I left the hospital in the morning and after going home and taking a shower, I went to see Eva at her's since she'd not been going to work after the accident.

"I felt so lonely all those days. No one to keep me company and all. Am so happy that you are back" She came and hugged me from behind laying her chin on my head. I really loved this girl. I wish I could tell her right now how I feel.
If only it was that simple.
"I couldn't stay there for long knowing someone was always crying for me to come home" I teased her and I swear I saw her blush. That was so cute.

"No, I never cried. Why would I cry while I knew you'd get out soon"

"That's not what you did on that night,huh"

"I was scared that you'd die on me. Who wouldn't be"

"Was that the only reason?"

"Yeah.. okay, you're my friend and of course I do care about you. I'd be lonely if you left me too"

"Come here" I pulled her close to me and hugged her. "I'm never going to leave you Kitty. And if I ever leave, always know that I love you and will always watch over you"

She hit me on the stomach with her elbow and pulled away. She had a habit of using her elbow to hit me.
"Can you stop saying that. You talk as if you're dying the next minute"

I laughed at her scared face. She looked so adorable when she was scared.
"Okay, no more leaving talks. I have an idea. Why don't you get ready and I will take you out to make up for those days"

"Now that makes sense" she said already heading to her room and I just sat there watching tv.

I had no idea where to take her. I didn't even know how the idea of taking her out came in. I tried to think of a place but I couldn't come up with a better plan.

"Btw Jeff, where are we going to?"

There goes nothing "uuhm.. you jus dress up. It's a suprise" I winked at her and she smiled saying okay.

I needed to think of a place quickly but my mind was so blank. If I took her to a restaurant, it would look like we're on a date. Where on earth was I taking her?

"Am done Mr" I turned to her and I swear she looked adorable.

"You look so beautiful Eva" She looked at me with those piercing eyes and I just stood there watching this beautiful goddess in front of me.

"Stop drooling Jeff" i snapped out of my thoughts and smirked at her comment.
"Yeah, let's go" I then remembered I had no idea...wait, I guess I know where to go now.

We drove for about an hour and a half heading to the coast side. I used to come here with my friends every weekend and we'd have fun together but after they left, I never came back to this play gain.

We get out of the car and head towards the lake.

"Can you please tell me where we are going Jeff, am getting impatient here"

"We're going for a boat riding. Now please shut up and follow me"

"You're so bossy. I won't follow you until you tell me where we are going"

"You can just stay there till I get back then. Don't forget I have the car keys. Is that alright princess?"
I knew she was getting annoyed but I didn't want to tell her where we were going. I just wanted it to be a surprise.

"You're so annoying you know"

"I love you too"

"Uugh, just shut up already"

"You love me more? Okay I won't argue with you about that" I smiled to myself knowing I was going to win this argument. I always won.

We got to where the boats were and I got in first. I held my hand out for Eva to take but she pushed it away getting on it on her own. She went to sit beside me but she tripped and fell on top of me and my hands automatically went to her waist and held her. She was laying to close to me and I could feel her soft breath against my neck. For a second I couldn't think straight. It was such an awkward moment for both of us. There was so much tension around us.
I helped her up and she sat next to me. We started our journey on the lake and we were almost reaching our destination but Eva hadn't spoken a word. I kept glancing at her every now and then but she had her eyes focused on the lake.

"Why are you so quite Eva? Aren't you enjoying this?" She didn't respond,
"Look am sorry about later."
She looked at me and then back to the lake. She ignored me. I felt some pain in my heart and I wished that I hadn't brought her here. Maybe this was a bad idea after all.

"Do you want us to go home?" I asked her desperately.

"Jeff can you just shut up. I thought you wanted me to shut up and follow you. Am simply trying to follow your rules and you're forcing me to break them"

"I just thought you got bored with all these. I didn't mean you keep quiet for the whole day though"

"You should have told me that "shut up" has another meaning too" she rolled her eyes at me like she always did and I could tell that we were alright.

"Okay Miss Kitty,no more rules then. You just do what pleases you. After all this is a treat for you"

"I could as well be the boss too,huh?"

"If that will make you feel happy then go ahead. But don't ask me to do impossible tasks"

"Don't worry. You won't die today. Am not going to be so hard on you" She looked at me and we both smiled.
