Jack J’s POV

We all sat waiting for what seemed like hours for Jess’ name to be called. Since we got to the hospital, they hadn’t permitted anyone into her hospital room until she was set up to her IV and the doctors had finished assessing her injuries.

We all sat in a square formation in the waiting room. I sat next to Cameron on my left and Anna on my right, leaning into my side with my arm around her. We were all still pretty traumatised and worried about Jess.

“She’ll be okay, I promise” Anna said quietly.

I nodded and kissed her forehead.

I looked over at Cameron who was leaning over, his head in his hands.

“You alright dude?” Nash asked on the other side of him, putting his hand on his back.

Cameron sat up slowly, and leaned back in his chair. His eyes were slightly red.  He nodded in reply.

“She will be fine” Drew said, on the other side of Nash, her head nestled into Nash’s shoulder.

He gave a small smile and a nod.

“Jessica Johnson’s acquaintances?” a nurse said, as she came through the double doors.

We all shot up  to show it was us.

“Is she alright?” I asked the nurse.

“She’s responding well to the treatment. The doctors have just finished assessing her injuries and will get back to her as soon as possible.” She smiled.

“That’s great. Could we visit?” Cameron asked, desperately.

“Yes, room 34b, but only two to three at a time, for the time being.” She said before walking away back through the double doors.

Cameron turned around to us.

“You guys can go first, it’s the least I could do for you guys helping me save her” he said.

“Thanks man, you’re awesome” Gilinsky said, hugging him.

“You guys go first” Jacob said to me and Jack. We nodded and made our way through the double doors.

We walked around a few corners before reaching the ward where her room was.

We walked in and she was lying in her hospital bed in her gown, remote in hand flicking through channels on the tv on the opposite wall. Her head turned and smiled when she heard us coming through the door.

“Guys!” she said, throwing her arms up in a hug gesture.

We hugged her at the same time, me on the left and Jack on the right. I had to be careful with her IV.

“I’m so happy to see you. Everything just seemed to happen so fast. First we were at breakfast, then Magcon and then there…now here” she said, as she released us.

“You’ll be out before you know it” Gilinsky said, dragging another chair from the corner next to mine.

“I hope so. Is everyone else here?” she asked, hopeful.

“Yeah, they are all in the waiting room. The nurse said only two to three people are allowed in here at a time for a while.” I said, looking down at her hand I was holding.

She nodded and rested her head back down on her pillow.

Then a black African/american doctor came in.

“Hello. I’m guessing your family?” He asked, making his way around the other side of her bed.

“Uh yeah” I replied.
