Sasuke's POV

"We-we're being followed around??" Sarada asked, worry filling her eyes as soon as we finished telling her what was happening. "Yes. The people who are following us don't like us and want to try and hurt us." Sakura said, pulling Sarada into her lap. Sakura pulled Sarada's face into her chest as Sarada's cry was muffled.

"But I'm not going to let hem hurt you, ok?" I reassured, hoping she would stop crying. She nodded, only continuing to cry. I moved closer to Sakura, taking Sarada. I laid down as she laid on me, facing my chest. She could feel my steady breathing and hear my heartbeat. This always calmed her when she was a baby, I just hoped it still calmed her.

At last, she began to settle down. She started to ask questions.

Why don't they like us?

Will they hurt Daddy?

What if they take me away?

We tried our best to answer them honestly yet we couldn't scare her more than she already is.

"Listen. They won't hurt you or your mother. I might get a little bit hurt but not as bad as last time. We won't let them take you away." I said, wiping Sarada's tears. She nodded and shoved her head back into my chest as she began to fall asleep.

I looked to Sakura, who smiled sweetly at the two of us. "Go to bed. We've probably got a long week ahead of us." I whispered to Sakura. She nodded, walking over to me and giving me a kiss on the forehead. "Goodnight, dear." She said. I nodded a goodnight back to her.

The next morning

I woke up with a weight still on my chest. Somehow, neither Sarada or myself moved all night. I smiled and brushed my fingers gently through her smooth hair. "Good morning, dear." Sakura said from the bed. "Morning." I said. I picked Sarada up and carried her as I walked to my wife. I kissed Sakura's forehead. "Did you sleep well?" I asked. "Not really. It's fine though." She said. "Get some sleep. I'm going out for a bit." I said, putting Sarada next to Sakura.

"Wait, out of the lair!?" She asked, sitting up. "No. I need to talk to Suigetsu, Karin, and Jugo." I said as I made my way to the door. "Ok. We'll be here." Sakura said. I nodded and left.

"So, are we going to be in danger?" Karin asked. "You shouldn't be. I don't think they know that we even know what this place is. I highly doubt you will be in danger." I said.

"Should we set up any defense in front of the lair on the outside?" Jugo asked. "No. We can't attract attention. It would be useful to have someone on watch inside though. I'd probably do it most of the time." I said.

"Anything you need from us?" Suigetsu asked. "Just basics. Food, water, maybe playing with Sarada every now and then." I said. "Alright. Is that it?" Karin asked. "Yeah. Later." I said, turning back to the room we were in.

I opened the door. Sakura and Sarada were sleeping. I smiled as I poked Sakura's arm, careful to not wake Sarada. Sakura looked to me and smiled. "I'm back. You hungry?" I asked. "Yeah. Sarada should be getting up soon." She said, looking to Sarada, who was at her side.

I walked to my bag and pulled out some
food pills. "Until we run out of these, this will be our food source. We don't want to use the food in the lair until necessary." I said. "Alright. Understood." Sakura said with a nod as I gave her a few food pills.

Sarada woke up with a stretch and a yawn. "Good morning, Sarada." Sakura said. "Morning, Mama." She said. She looked to me and smiled. "Morning, Papa." She said. "Morning, Princess." I said, walking to her and kissing her forehead. She looked at me, her eyes suddenly widening. "What's wrong?" Sakura asked. We didn't get a vocal response. Instead, she burried her face into Sakura's chest as she stated crying.

"Baby girl, can you tell Mommy what's wrong?" Sakura asked sweetly. "I had a bad dream and they hurt you and Papa. They were about to take me away and then I woke up." She cried. Sakura looked to me as I sighed, feeling bad that we gave her that nightmare. I picked Sarada up and put her in my lap, wiping her tears. "You see that I'm still here and your mother is too?" I asked her. "Mhm." She said after a sniffle. "We aren't hurt, are we? And look, there isn't anyone else here." I said, looking into her onyx eyes. She wiped a few tears and nodded.

I kissed her forehead as she smiled. "That's my girl. A smile looks better on you, Princess." I said.

I recently started saying 'that's my girl' to her. After my father practically ignoring me, I decided to start saying that. It made me happy, it made Sarada happy, and even Sakura. I also started calling her 'Princess'. Sakura is my Queen and I guess that makes me the King. "Now, how about we get you something to eat?" Sakura asked her. She nodded as I grabbed my food pills. "They might not taste very good but it's what we have. Sorry." I said, handing her one food pill at a time until she wasn't hungry anymore.

All we really did around the lair was sit in the room, talk with my old teammates, and occasionally I would take one of the girls on my watch shift. Sarada enjoyed doing it with me. The whole hour, she'd watch my eyes scan the area over and over again. Sakura wasn't a huge fan on the other hand. She always was worried about Sarada so she didn't go as much as Sarada.

I opened the door to a dark and empty room. "Sakura? Sarada?" I called. I sighed and threw my bag on the ground, walking to Suigetsu's office area. I poked my head in. No Suigetsu. I jogged to Jugo's workplace. Nobody. I sprinted to Karin's office. Please.....even if I must die....please be here, Sakura. Sarada. I thought as I anxiously opened the door.

"I see. Where are they you little brat?" I asked, unsheathing my sword.
