Quick chapter and probably a poor editing job, but I wanted to update for you guys. Sorry for the long wait. More is coming. And I believe this book is reaching it's end.

The rest of the week went by smoothly. Erik and I went on a couple of dates, and so so did Allison and Nadir. We always made sure to time ourselves because of Lola; meaning that if Allison and Nadir went on a date, I stayed home with Erik to watch over her. The same would happen to Allison if Erik and I went out. Sometimes we took her to the Day-Care Center where we would play with her and the other kids, that way we could change up her environment. Erik, Lola, and I have grown extremely close, even closer than before. We are like one great big family.

Also, I haven't received any new threats from Jack. Thank God.

By the time Thursday came along it was time to for my appointment and our meeting with the Church Group.

It's been a while since I've attended those, I think.

I've missed them all because of my depressed state. Now I feel disappointed in myself. I was very selfish.

Thursday evening, after school and an hour of work, Erik took me to Reynald Medical Center for my appointment. Allison was watching over Lola and getting ready for the group tonight.

As Erik and I were walking to the building, he asked me a question that, honestly, really surprised me: "Are we going to tell the rest of the group about your pregnancy?"

I almost freeze from the question. Should I? What would people think of me if I do tell them about my pregnancy?

"What would I tell them?" I ask. Erik opens the entrance door for me; I give him a small 'thanks' before continuing, "I mean...what if they ask who the father is, or what if they suspect it's yours?"

Pressing the button on the elevator, Erik gives me a sideglance. "Would you be embarrassed if it was mine?"

"No! No, that's not it at all. I was only thinking of what would happen if I told them the truth: it wasn't yours. What would they think of me? Or what, if I get nervous and say, 'Yes, it's Erik's.' I couldn't put all that pressure on you."

The elevator door dings open and Erik and I walk inside.

Erik wraps an arm around me, tugging me close to him. "It is going to be mine eventually. As a step-son or daughter, anyway."

"True. Hopefully, in the future we can have one of our own." I look him in the eyes, blushing profusely. Wow, that was blunt.

Erik doesn't look back. "Even if it has this face?" Self-consciously, he raises a hand to his mask, carressing it.

I only say one word, but I say it with all the meaning of the world: "Yes."

Erik finally looks at me. His lips slowly twitch into a smile. "If they ask about whether it's mine or not, just say 'yes.' Especially since Jack is no longer in the picture and he never will be again." It could just be me, but I think I hear some jealousy in his tone.

I just nod.

And no, I haven't told him about the pictures. I don't think it's necessary, especally because I haven't recieved anything new from him recently.

The elevator dings, indicating our turn to get off. I lead him to the waiting room. Surprisingly, it's basically empty; only three people, including Erik and I.
