"We will find them, won't we?" Lucy asked as she lay down under a tree, hoping to get some sleep.
"Of course we will Lu." Susan reassured her as she lay down beside her.
Lucy nodded slowly before sighing. "This is the second time in just over a week we've had to go looking for them." She muttered.
Susan sighed too. "I know Lucy." She sighed. "And just like last time, we will find them."
Lucy forced a smile before buring her face into Susan's shoulder. "I know." She whispered.
Susan wrapped an arm around her little sister before they both drifted off into a deep sleep.

"Ed, you still awake?" Peter whispered.
"Hmm." Came Edmund's reply.
Peter sighed, squeezing Edmund's hand again. "How - How's your back?" Peter asked after a while, voice cracking.
Edmund sighed. "Sore." He muttered through the gag.
Peter swallowed thickly. "We need to get out of here." He said quitely.
"How?" Edmund said (with difficulty) and Peter was pretty sure he had an eyebrow raised.
Peter thought for a moment before scanning the floor.
"Ed." He said suddenly. "You see that rock? The sharp one?"
Edmund looked down. "Hmm." He hummed, nodding his head.
"Can you reach it?" Peter asked.
Edmund let go of Peter's hand and reached as far as he could, only just managing to clamp hold of it. He groaned in pain slightly as he passed it behind him to Peter.
Peter grabbed it from Edmund, looking around at him worriedly before he started cutting the ropes with the sharp edge of the rock.
Edmund frowned as he listened. "What are you doing?" He asked through the gag.
"Shh." Peter warned quickly. "We need to be extremely quiet." He paused. "And this is gonna take a while."
Edmund sighed as he waited, and waited, and waited, and waited a bit more. And he waited and  - snap.
Edmund relaxed as the ropes broke, freeing both of them from the tree.
Peter took a deep breath and moved around to kneel in front of Edmund, placing a finger to his lips. Edmund remained silent as Peter quickly untied the gag in his mouth.
Edmund licked his lips as he leant forward away from the tree, holding in a gasp as pain shot down his back.
"Come on." Peter whispered as he helped Edmund to his feet.
Edmund bit down hard on his tongue so he didn't cry out and leant against Peter.
Peter wrapped an arm around his shoulders as the two began to walk, they didn't care which direction they went, they just wanted to get as far away from the witch as possible.
Edmund limped along beside Peter, shivering. "I'm cold." He whispered after making sure they were a safe distance away from Jadis.
Peter swallowed thickly. "We could've grabbed your tunic." He sighed.
Edmund nodded. "Could've done." He said. "It's not very nice walking through the snow in the early hours of the morning shirtless." He attempted a smile but it was shot lived.
He shivered hard as the two walked through the woods, Peter trying his best to keep him walm, but it wasn't exactly working.
"Well." Peter said. "Look on the bright side. We got away from her."
Edmund nodded. "But for how long?" He muttered.
Peter sighed. "For as long as possible." He said. "We'll go back to Cair and stay there." He added.
"Er Pete?" Edmund said after a while.
"Yeah?" Peter answered.
"Have you any idea where we are?" Edmund asked.
Peter froze in his tracks. "Crap." He muttered.
Edmund took a deep breath. "We're lost." He whispered, voice shaking.
Peter swallowed thickly. "No we're not." He said, trying to stay positive, but his voice was shaking.
Edmund sighed. "Great. We're lost and she's bound to come looking for us." He said.
"But she won't find us." Peter said firmly.
Edmund bit his lip as pain shot through his back. Peter noticed and looked worried at him. "Ed you okay?" He asked quickly.
Edmund took a deep breath as he shook his head. "No." He muttered.
Peter sighed. "Sit down a minute." He mumbled.
Edmund looked warily at the snow but eventually did as Peter had said. Peter bit his lip as he sat behind him, glancing down across his back. It certainly helped that it was now early morning and was starting to get light, otherwise he doubted he'd be able to see much.
Peter's heart broke at the sight of his brothers back. Skin torn, blood everywhere. He swore he almost through up. "What have I done." He whispered, voice cracking as he tried to hold back the tears.
Edmund sighed. "You didn't have a choice Peter." He muttered quietly. "Jadis made you do it."
Peter sighed.
"How - How bad is it?" Edmund hesitantly asked.
Peter bit his lip. "Bad enough." He said, tears rolling down his cheeks now. "Well, I don't think they're bleeding anymore." He added after a while. "The lashes I mean."
Edmund nodded. "It's still painful though." He mumbled.
Peter sighed sadly. "I bet it is." He said. "As soon as we get back to Cair Paravel, I'm giving them a good clean."
Edmund didn't look at all happy but knew that that had to be done. "Alright." He whispered, nodding his head slightly.
"Can you carry on?" Peter asked.
"Probably." Edmund muttered. "But which way do we go?"
Peter hesitated. "That way?" He pointed ahead of him.
"I suppose we'll just have to try." Edmund sighed as he and Peter stood, him leaning on Peter for support.
"Well I'm glad to see you've only got mild flu now." Peter muttered. "Otherwise things could be a lot more difficult."
Edmund nodded in agreement, although in truth he felt absolutely awful, he just wasn't letting on how ill he actually felt.

"They're gone your majesty!" The hag screamed.
Jadis came marching out of the tent the second the hag said this, eyes wide with horror. Her expression soon turned to rage though when she saw the broken ropes. "No!" She shouted. She paused. "We need to find them, Edmund at least." She said.
The hag nodded.
"And when we do, Edmund's gonna wish they just stayed put."
