One Last

Jimin POV

Mina...

+

"Mina... MINA!" I jump up yelling Mina's name. She groans next to me and says, "What, Jimin?" I twist and turn, noticing I'm in my room and on my bed. I look next to me and see Mina laying down perfectly fine.

I hug her and start crying. Mina giggles and says, "Why so sudden, Jimin?" I say in between my sobs, "I thought I lost you." Mina doesn't say anything and silence makes me weary. I blink my eyes a few times and I pull away from the hug. I stutter, "M-Mina, is everything good?" 

+

Mina nods and says, "Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" This doesn't feel right... Suddenly, two people open the door to my room and say, "Good morning Jiminie~" I look up to see my parents. I stutter in both confusion and amazement, "M-mom? Da-dad?" They show a questioning look and dad says, "Jimin? What's wrong?"

I answer, "I thought you were dead?" Mom then yells, "Ahhhh!" Everyone looks at her in surprise and she continues, "Honey, we are dead. Don't you remember?" Dad puts finger on his temple and says, "Oh yeah, we're dead." They walk out the room but before they leave, both of them extend their arm.

+

Mina stands up and starts walking to them, I grab her hand and say, "Mina, where are you going?" Mina smiles at me while tears flow down her face, "I'll see you soon, Jimin." I try pulling her back but for some reason my body stops me. I continue to yell, "MINA! DON'T GO! MINA!"

+

I suddenly spring up awake. My friends are around me, all looking shocked. I look at a nearby mirror and see how pale and skinny I turned. I try to stand up but my legs are so weak that I almost fell. Taehyung caught me and embraced me in hug. 

+

All of them are crying and Jungkook says, "Jimin, we missed you." I look around and say, "Where's Mina?" Everyone is quiet. I ask again, "Where's Mina?" Hoseok says, "Jimin, I don't know how to tell you but Mina is dead." I look at him in tears and I say, "What? That can't be, the ambulance made it there on time."

Namjoon says, "Jimin, that was 4 months ago." 4 months? I stutter, "4... 4 months?" Jin then says, "She didn't make it. You passed out and both of you were rushed to the hospital. You were put into a coma and overtime your disease slowly disappeared. The doctors said it was a miracle." I say back, "What? You're saying that my disease is gone?"

Everyone nods and I say, "Where's Dr. Lee?" Dr. Lee walks in and everyone leaves the room. I say back raising my voice, "You're saying after all this years of treatment, my disease just goes away like that? You're saying that I survived on a 1.33% chance but Mina couldn't make it? WHY DIDN'T YOU SAVE HER!"

Dr. Lee says quietly, "You think this all makes sense to me? You both came in here half dead and I was worried. We had to put you in a coma and I spent over 4 hours in surgery for Mina. You think this is easy for me? Maybe true love saved, I DON'T FUCKING KNOW." He takes off his glasses and wipes it.

After putting them back on he says, "Sorry for yelling, it just pisses me off so much that I couldn't find this cure earlier because if I did you wouldn't be suffering right now." I look at him with tears in my eyes. I start slapping my arm while sobbing.

"You're saying, that after all the good byes and closure I had were useless?"

+

+

"You're saying, I have to live a life without Mina?"

+

+

Dr. Lee embraces me in a hug and says, "Jimin, Mina left you something." He hands me a small box. Dr. Lee says, "It was found in her bag." He leaves the room leaving the box on a table. I stare it for a while. Jimin just open the box. Tell me this is a prank. Hahaha, just a funny joke. When I open this box, it's just gonna reveal that Mina is waiting for me behind that door.

I take the box and slowly open it. There's a letter inside. I open the paper and it reads:

Dear Jimin,

+

If you're reading this then it means I'm not strong enough to tell you in person, by the way. I'm sorry for leaving you at the restaurant. Hopefully, you're reading this by the time our food makes it here. Don't eat mine, I'll be back in a few minutes, just getting the cake because I ordered it last minute so I still have to pick it up. Anyway, this is going to be my handwritten contract ensuring you everything. Mind my handwriting, I was trying my best not to cry.

Mina's Promises

1. I promise to never forget you or anything you have ever done.

+

2. I promise to water all your plants and take care of your apartment.

+

3. I promise to wear all your clothes or donate them.

+

4. I promise to keep loving you even after you leave.

+

5. I promise to move on even though I will never forget the feeling of your touch and love

6. I promise to never leave your side.

Love Myoui Mina

+

This is the reason she wanted to keep her bag away from me. She was going to give this at the restaurant  but in reality we never made it there. 

+

Before I knew it, tears were dripping on the paper. "Liar." I continue to rain several tears on Mina's paper. "Fuck, why did it have to be you?" I stare out the window into the city lights. "Why live if Mina isn't here with me? I was prepared to lose everything but not like this." I open the box and it reveals a penguin plushie with a promise ring in its arm.

There was a post it that said, "Wear this to seal our promises" I put it on and grab a nearby chair. With all my strength, I throw it at the window. "I'm coming Mina. Just wait for me." I desperately crawl to the window but before I can jump. Yoongi yells, "JIMIN WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

+

I try to jump before they get to me but I feel Jungkook's arms around me. I yell, "LET ME GO! I'M GOING TO MINA!" Jungkook pulls me back but I hit his face trying to break free. I'm too weak as I've been asleep for 4 months.

+

Jin says, "Jimin, this won't solve anything!" I answer, "I DON'T CARE JUST LET ME GO AND MEET MINA!" Jin says, "JIMIN THINK! WOULD MINA WANT THIS? NO! SHE WOULD WANT YOU TO MOVE ON AND LIVE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! DON'T WASTE THIS MIRACLE!"

I stop resisting and collapse.

3 years later

+

I started working at a nearby cafe where everyone of my friends pass by every now and then. For every drink I give to the customer, I draw a small penguin which everyone seems to enjoy. I've completely moved on and now I'm currently investing my money in a new moped.

+

I'm living the life that Mina always wanted me to live. Before closing time, I start to clean up and fix the tables.Suddenly, the bells ring and a familiar someone enters.

+

"One Iced Americano please." I say back, "Sorry we're closed." She complains, "Please, I'll give a lofty tip!" I smile and head to the cash register. I ask back, "Not to be rude but who would get an iced americano this late at night?" She giggles lightly and I put her order in then ask, "Can I get a name?"

"Mina."

+

I pick up my head to see the Myoui Mina. I smile and say, "You're here?" Mina nods and says, "Hurry up with my drink, we have to go somewhere." I quickly prepare her coffee and she holds my hand.

+

She pulls me towards a small room and there's nothing there but a picture, a few flowers, and us. I sigh and say, "Is it time already?" She pouts and says, "Sounds like you don't want to go with me." I shake my head and say, "I never got that new moped and I didn't get to watch the new Star Wars movie."

+

She chuckles and says, "Hurry up Jimin they're waiting for us."

+

We exit the funeral hall and leave.

{Well that's a wrap. Sorry for shitty closure but I needed to finish this book today or I'll never get to it. By the way, has anyone noticed the small easter eggs in the titles for this book? I made it count down starting from 7 to 1.
