Love and war

Chapter one

It was 12 am in the morning when the bell began to ring "alright everyone up!" The Colonel Yelled, all the solders got up with out making a noise cause if they do they would get a nice "talking" with the colonel and they would not want that to happen.
Benjamin Willis was one of the solders and he got up as well to prepare for battle. He knew that it would be hard but he needed to do it, for her.

It was a warm afternoon in Atlanta, Georgia and school had just gotten out and there were kids running in all directions. I was was waiting for his brother Edward Willis to get home from school, you see I was only two years younger then my brother. " I'm home from school" Edward said as he walked through the front door I ran down the stairs to greet my brother. "Welcome home, Edward" Edward smiled and patted My head.

"Were's mother ?" Edward asked "she's working on the garden" Edward smiled and made his way to his bedroom to get his homework done. I had to the garden to see if mom wanted any help " do you any help mom" "that's ok honey, I'm actually almost done, is your brother home ?" "Yeah he is" I smiled. Marie Willis was my mother's name, she was and now the best mom anyone can have, she's funny, nice, caring, and smart.

"Alright" mom said as she was getting up "time to make dinner" I followed mom back inside " are excited about your first day at school tomorrow?" Mom asked as we made our way to the kitchen "yeah I am" I said looking to the side "I know you will do just fine" it's like she knew exactly what I was feeling.

        Dinner was ready and me, mom, and Edward sat around the table. It was silent like all of our other dinners, but it wasn't always like that there was a fourth seat at our table and that seat was my father's he would always come home and just fill the house with cheer that was when he was still with us, now it's just not the same.

"Alright, once you buys are done with your chores it's off to bed" mom said while getting up "yes ma'am" we both said. My chores were done and I hugged my mom good night, then made my way up to my room and sat on my bed for a few minutes thinking on how school would be like. I heard many story's about school from my brother and he says it's not that bad once you get used to it and now I'm thinking what's that supposed to mean.

The morning came faster then I expected, I walked over to my window to see the sun rise " I'm starting school today dad, are you proud of me" I whispered knowing that no one will answer. I sighed then proceeded to get ready for my first day.

            After I got everything done I was prepared for what was awaiting me at school. When I stepped outside I immediately got this wave of nervousness through my whole body. " don't be scared, it's just school " Edward said as if he read my mind, I nod and start walking thinking I hope Edward was right about not being scared, but I guess he was wrong because when we got to the school it literally looks like a prison with desks in it.

Edward smiles " it looks better inside " he was right it did look better when we got inside, the school actually looked like a school. I wave goodbye to Edward and walk off to my class hoping that my teacher was as nice as the schools inside.
